I posted this on the Ecodiesel form. Brakes very rarely physically "Warp" your pads create hot spots on the rotor and that changes the molecular structure of the Metal (kind of like tempering) If you tow somewhat regularly it can happen again and again even with the top quality rotors. see the attachment to the web site, i got those rotors and never looked back.

I was at 74k on my 13 and I had no issues.
This was mostly highway miles.

Im at 79000 on a 13' sport and have not changed yet. Coming up for inspection in May, when i pull the wheels to check I'm sure i will change. but have had no issues and or reason to believe they are worn. Last inspection I pulled tires first and there was plenty of pad left on the stock sets front and back. Regular driving conditions pull a yard trailer from time to time and also a 17' bass boat off and on in the summer. pretty good i think.

My 2001 was the same way. It ate front brakes. They were used up within 18 months. I'd have to get my notebook to see how many miles that was. I could still have the factory shoes on the back at 330k miles, but I chose to replace them just in case. Way too much front bias. Put SSB on the front with slotted rotors and extended it to 24 months. Apparently, they are out of business now.
Never like slotted rotors. I believe the problem is the rears don't do anything lol

Changed the brakes on my 15 Ram 1500 @ 95k miles living in the snow belt of northern Illinois and SE Iowa. Could probably have gone another 10 or 15k miles but one of the pads (friction material) separated from the backing “plate”

that’s also while also pulling a 20’ trailer hauling 1 or 2 tractors to shows and rides

Same here. My 2015 Crew Cab is just shy of 99,000 miles with lots of boat and snowmobile towing. Original brakes and the pads still looked great when I rotated tires in the fall. I rarely drive in rush hour so that helps. However, I leave multiple car lengths in front of me so that I don't have to jump on the brakes every 15 seconds.

2016, I tow a trailer with dual axles and brakes. I made it to about 78,000 and changed brakes and rotors.

Just turning 30k on my ‘17 Express and I know I’ll be doing front brakes before my May inspection. However, I live on a mountain in NC and every trip out is a 6 mile drive down to town with a dozen switchbacks. I’ve tried 2nd and 3rd gear engine braking runs when I have lots of time but it takes 25 minutes. It’s not just my truck, though. My wife’s Volvo XC70 used to eat brakes for lunch.

Post was timely for me as I removed wheel to replace broken manifold exhaust bolts and looked again at my front brakes. I’m easy on my 1500 Hemi brakes but with 109000 I still have room. Will order brakes soon because of miles as I have never replaced. New tires just installed and tire tech didn’t say anything about brakes wear so I’m not in a big panic.

I have a 2012 2500 Cummins. Early fall of 2018 i had to replace my rear brakes and rotors because rotors had spider cracks and flaking all over at just over 53,000 miles. I replaced everything with powerstop brakes and rotors(drilled and slotted). Then late summer of 2019 at just over 56,000 miles the front rotors did the same and I replaced everything with the same as the rear. After that I noticed the front driver side brake was hanging up. Took it apart and cleaned it up (again) very well and back together but didn't fix. So I went to the ole trusty YouTube. There I found my solution. The clamp that holds the rubber hose to the knuckle had built up rust between it and the hose pinching it shut allowing out to caliper but not back. Took it off cleaned it painted and put back on that fixed it.

My 2013 Ram 1500 had 170,000 when I replaced pads and just turned the rotors. Rear brakes still oem that came with the truck.

At this point I'm going to run it until I get brake indicators rubbing (assuming these have them). Going to replace the rear rotors anyway , see how far it gets, but I'm guessing maybe get to about 60,000 on the rear and I'll just do it.

2016 Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins, Banks Cold Air Intake and Banks Rear Diff cover: At 34,000 miles had very little braking. Front rotors were running very hot. Pulled front tires found very little pad wear but pads were destroyed by road salt and chemicals used here in northern Utah. Rust prevented pads from releasing which caused overheating. Rotors looked good, no visible warpage, Replaced front and rear pads, problem solved. Had same problem with rear pads on 2006 Ram 2500 5.9 Diesel.

2014 Ram 1500 with around 65,000 miles. Been pulling a 30 foot travel trailer the last 3 summers and brakes are still good. Guess my brake controller is working ok!

2015 1500. Just changed today at 52000. Could easily have gotten another 20/30k on them. Discs look good....
