That's awesome news so glad I bought the AE. Did you get the heated wheel to work as well? Oh and much better news than I know the wife is gonna give me!

The AE tool is about $432.00, its a two item deal the unit and the software. They also offer combo pack software if you have several vehicles in that bundle might be worth it. I just bought the tool (ST06) $224.95 and the software Dodge/Chry etc (E104) $206.95.

Great news for sure!
Out of curiosity does the memory seat function work now? and it sounds like I could turn on the rear heated seat function later :naughty:

So like most everyone is speculating, I made a change to the BCM using the AE tool. I actually changed the setting in ECU #5 - Memory Settings and set the vented seats option to present. As soon as I did that the vented seats started working. It seems as ECU #3 added the buttons to the screen but ECU #5 actually made the truck know that the vented seats were there. I also set the rear seats to not present using the same ECU but the diagnostic codes for the rear seats persist. I am not sure why but everything works now.

I paid to get the cargo cam and USB working on my '16 radio because I couldn't find another way. I'll also pay them if they figure out the power folding mirror part, but for anything else it makes more sense to just get the AE.

I was talking to them about the power folding mirrors and I think they had the wrong idea about what we were looking for. I explained the issue and never heard from them again, so I'm not sure what's up.

I know that you haven't been able to get the codes to stick on the door module, but I was able to get my led handle lights and map lights to turn on today using the tool. Don't know if it's my version of door controller or maybe an updated AE version, but the settings stuck. I also was able to set the CHMSL to led which got rid of the annoying brake light out message every time I started the truck too.

Didn't get a chance to install it. Just going to take to the dealer this week and let them do it. I just haven't found the time. Did you buy AE from KT performance or directly from AE?

The other thing that I changed in ECU #5 was the heated seat material. It was set to "default", and I could choose from Standard Leather, perforated leather, or cloth. I set it to perforated leather. It really made a difference in how fast the seat's leather heats up compared to the default setting.

If the OBD boys want to do this right they should be asking what kind of material is on the seat and setting it appropriately.

I flipped the ventilated seats on for a minute on my way home and couldn't believe how cool the air coming from them was. It definitely will be nice in the summer.

There were options to turn on the memory seat stuff, but i didn't go there. One thing at a time. There is additional wiring to put in for the back seats. I may actually try to hook them up now just to see what is involved. Going to see if I can source the connectors I need to wire the back seats up. My wife already thinks I'm obsessed so why stop now lol

They are from a rear heated seat truck but I have not installed or wired the rear seat yet. I originally wasnt going to wire the rear heaters since I have a jumpseat and not a console, but I may try to wire them up now.

So scenario wise our trucks are the same. Good place to start, now to find someone with the tool looking to make a few bucks.

I was surprised how cold the seats got too. I always kind of thought they were a gimmik and wasn't expecting much. It's obviously cold outside so that makes a difference but they do work. I am going to go into ECU# 5 and see what fabric my seats are set to. I never thought to even go look.

I'm curious to see if yours has that parameter,Rick. I know for a fact that mine doesn't.

Did you turn on any of the options in ECU 5? I noticed yesterday when I was looking that heated seats and/or wheel were turned on in there (I don't remember if it had both or just one) even though I don't remember doing it and didn't put it in my notes. It's possible that it is the reason why I have the comfort options in my RA4 and you don't, so I would enable any features that are in there that you have installed. I can't see how that would hurt.

I just went in and checked and I do not have a setting in ECU#5 to change fabric settings that I could find. In ECU#5 Memory it doesn't even show front heated seats present. It shows ventilated seats present and heated steering wheel present though. All the other vehicle configurations that I used to turn on the heated seats and wheel show the front heated seats present and activated though the only one that does not show my front heated seats is ECU#5

How far are you from groveland FL? KT Performance, the place most of us bought the software from is in Groveland. Maybe they could do it for you.

I found this reserved heat setting that may be what he found. It says unidentified but there are no options to change it.

Your truck is identical to mine, Rick. If you haven't already, I'd flip on that heated wheel setting in ECU 5 as I have that on. Maybe that'll get you your auto-on setting.
