Heck just send him the vin of that sport. Please report what you get so we can get on this. If this is the solution we can make it pretty easy.

Too bad adding the coding didnt to it either, I was really hoping you had it with adding the soft keys.

How did it become this bad for us!

Right now it's not to bad for me. It's 30 degrees here and the heated seats work, so I'm good for a few months lol :). I'm going to get my wheel installed this week so it will be interesting to see if that works.

As soon as I get something back from him, I'll post it.

I sent Benny a VIN from a 2016 Laramie with the jumpseat last night and asked him for the part number. I haven't heard back yet.

I found 3 distinct part numbers for a 2013. one with Heated front & wheel, then one that adds vented and a third that adds heated rear. The problem is that the sites with the old lookup system that actually gives useful info only goes up to 13.

Somebody with a TechAuthority subscription should be able to sort things out.

Do you get the icon on the top right of your display? Does the LED on the hard key come on?

I misspoke. I do get the icon ad the top of the display for the few seconds that the button is depressed, but it never lights the led on the button.

I stated they will work without the codes added just like mine did. I did not think adding the codes would help but it doesn't hurt to try.
This is not necessarily a bad thing for us. As I've stated before modding takes time. It took us months to figure out other things such as the RA4 conversion and other things. We were fortunate that my truck just happened to have the correct seat modules so my seats actually worked! Now we know it can be done and we have already narrowed it down to mist likley being the seat module. We're actually making great progress. Had this been tried on a different set of seats that have the heated rear option we would be months behind where we are now.

I took the VIN from the sport specified earlier and put it into tech authority and this is what I get back.

IMG_0016_zpsysv79vh0.jpg

I cross referenced these sales code against a list of sales codes that I have.
NHS-heated steering wheel
CMA-heated front seats
CAJ-ventilated front seats
JPZ- heats seated second row
X8Z - wasn't in my list

I also put VINS in for Laramie trucks with and without a center console and I got back the same part number for both: 68217268AD. Which happens to be the same module I have in my seats. I really expected the VIN with the jumpseat to have a different module since it is my understanding that the jumpseat Laramies do not have heated rear seats.

That's interesting. That would seem to imply that for 2014 at least, there's one part number regardless of options. So, the question becomes why is yours different?

If you get a chance, can you check two more VINs?

1C6RR7LT3FS527255 - 2015 with heated seats only
1C6RR7NT1DS559468 - 2013 with everything

I have the first set and the second are on the way. This might help us reconcile p/n's on the modules with their dealer replacement part.

This is starting to look more like the part number difference is by year and unrelated to the features. That first one are the seats in my truck that have 68217263AB. According to that, though, they should have the same module as yours. Maybe that's just a newer replacement for it.

This doesn't explain why your module is showing an error for not having the rear seats hooked up. If the modules are interchangeable, how does it know it's supposed to have heated rear seats?

Maybe I should just unplug the c6 connector from the module and see what happens. It's only for the rear seats.

So the extra 6 pin connector that WilliamS alluded to in one of the first posts, I also have. I just found it in the schematic and it is the other side of the c6 connector that runs to the heated rear buttons in the console. It's just hanging there now and isn't plugged into anything. I would think that wouldn't be any different than unplugging the c6 though.

Seems easy enough, does Williams also have his rear seat set connector plugged in as well I wonder?

It probably wouldn't hurt, though I doubt it's actually trying to detect if the connector is plugged in.

The service manual does mention that the module "configures itself to the heated and cooled systems in the vehicle". Maybe it needs to relearn somehow?

Also wondering if Rick is showing the same DTCs on his scanner....maybe the rear seats post as a failure regardless of set up

Where's the little black button on the back of the module that we can push with a pin for 5 seconds and reset it to factory defaults lol :)

What connector, I have an open wire gray, 6 pins under the seat you can see in my earlier posts. It's not plugged into anything. Or do you mean the module, not that I can assume it knows it's plugged in if it's just an extension to the rear seat buttons, which I do not have.

Wonder what the workshop manual shows for setup of the module seeing it seems to be 9n any combination of trucks with heated seats, or rear heated and so on. The module came from the truck that had it all, so is it my truck that needs learning not the module?

No that's the connector I was talking about. It runs over to the c6 connector in the module. It usually connects to the center console's rear seat buttons.

I don't have the 6 pin gray connector on my seat harness. When I first installed everything I pushed the buttons and nothing happened at all. No heat no vent. I figured it was going to be a no go. I try ed a few times and nothing seemed to change. I rechecked all my wiring but changed nothing. I started the truck again and everything started to work. I wonder if the module was calibrating itself before it would work. Since my seats don't have the connection for the heated rear seats maybe the module wasn't looking for heated rear seats or something similar?.......
