No, the UAQ and UAS radios will not communicate with the BCM on the 13 and 14 1500 and 2500 trucks and some of the 15 2500's for certain features. I know it's needed on the trucks that have been upgraded from the smaller radios and I'm pretty sure even a 13 or 14 truck that came with the RA3 or RA4 radio would need the module if you installed the UAQ or UAS radio. It is a module that connects between the radio and the trucks radio harness. Usually the seat controls are one of the options that won't work correctly without the module. These are pictures of the Infotainment unit which is the larger one and the Customtronix Enigma unit that does the same thing plus corrects some of the other issues the radios have communicating with the trucks. I prefer the Custimtronix Enigma unit but either will work.

I've always been confused on differences between the @customtronix Enigma vs Enzo and which was appropriate for each situation... Doesn't help that some of the description from the Enigma is repeated on the Enzo page.
They do give you more bang for the buck with additional features... can't see where they mention anything about fixing the seat communication issues with 13-15 trucks unless it's listed in the manual.

Your original radio is an RA4 the part number is VP4 NA. If I were you I would look into getting the module like the ones I sent the pictures of. I put a UAQ in my 14 for a short time and it needed the module in order for me to control the seats from the radio. I ended up putting my RA4 back in because I prefer it over the UAQ mostly because of all of the glitches the UAS and UAQ radios have when installed in the 13 and 14 trucks.

I replaced the uconnect because the xm did not work, I dont like the idea of that harness. I might look into getting another RA4 unit.

I'm personally not a fan of the UAS/UAQ radios for many reasons , especially in the 13 and 14 trucks because of all the communication issues between the radio and the BCM. I tried it for a while and pulled it out and put the RA4 back in. I like the sound quality and screen themes better plus many other features. I have an android phone so I can voice text with my RA4 without being plugged into the truck. I know the I phone cannot voice text with the RA4 so I guess if I had an I phone I might have tried it s little longer but it just wasn't for me.

Yes to both. The RA4 will communicate with your truck without any issues. If you are planning on ever installing a Cargo Cam I reccomend getting a 16 or 17 radio out of a Ram pickup or Jeep Grand Cherokee. The earlier 13 to 15 radios will divert the backup camera signal to your rear view mirror if you enable the cargo cam the 16 and 17 will still have it on the actual screen. If you don't plan on installing the Cargo Cam the 13 to 17 will all work fine. All three of UAS/UAQ radios.I have tried in my truck didn't sound as good as my RA4. The UAQ is made by Panasonic and the RA4 is made by Harmon. The UAQ radio has five screen themes and none of them are that great. The RA4 radio has 7 screen themes that go much better with the interior of the truck in my opinion. Also if you purchase an RA4 make sure the lable on the radio says VP4 NA. The NA stands for North America. This is the one you want. A lot of the radios on Ebay are VP4 CA radios which stands for Canada and they don't have as many options. You can pick up VP4 NA radios on Ebay for $450 to $500 pretty easily.

Interested in upgrading to leather seats!!

I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn with cloth seats and a power drivers seat. I also have the side airbags in my front seats.

Based on info I gathered here, only 09-12 seats will work in my truck because of the wiring harness?

And because I have the side airbags in my seats I need to find seats from a 2012 to keep the airbags?

I would of course like to keep the powered drivers seat. Passenger is optional and so is the heated/cooled function. So not having those wouldn’t be a deal breaker.

What are my chances finding leather seats from a 2012 that are in great to excellent condition?

Obviously the older the seats the more wear they will have. You are correct about the wiring and the airbags. If you instal seats without airbags it will throw a code and you will get a check engine/airbag warning light. I see 2012 seats on Ebay quite a bit that look like they are still in pretty good shape. They are almost always listed incorrectly saying they will fit all 4th gen trucks when they actually wont. It's good that you have done your research and know that is incorrect. The only thing you would need to do is verify you have the correct wiring which I believe you should. Most of the conversions have been done on the 13 and up trucks so there isn't a lot of info on the 09 to 12 trucks. You will need to have the Alfa tool to enable the codes plus the switch panel and the seats. I know it has been successfully done on a 2012 Ram a while back but I can't remember who it was.

I bought used SLT seats that are supposed to be heated and I don't believe they are. The driver side is power but how can I verify they are heated? I can't get ahold of DeereGuy or anyone else to get a heated/power harness. I've sent messages to him since December with no reply via his website, email, and PM on this forum. The seats are stained and look rough so I don't care to put them in if they are not heated. Any way I can confirm 100% that they are heated without waiting for a harness I may never be able to get anyone to make me one. 119423303f0d9c0149f9035e3e5fd82a.jpg

Austen.....SLT 2500's do not have heated seats. I also have a 2017 2500 SLT (regular cab) that I ordered and heated seats where not available in that trim level. I added heated/ventilated seats to mine by getting seats out of a Laramie trim Ram. On another note, keep in mind DeereGuy does the harnesses as a second job. I happen to know that recently he has been traveling extensively for his main job and some of that has involved travel to far places internationally.

If they are heated they will have the heated seat module on the bottom of the drivers seat. Can you check that or send a pick of the bottom of the seat and/or the wiring?

The the passenger seat is the only seat in right now as I didn't realize they might not be heated until I switched the passenger out. Here is a picture of the back of the passenger seat plug. 98c1b5533134d4dc13586e1583568475.jpg

It doesn't appear to be a heated seat. You would need to have these three wires in the yellow seat connector. Pin#3 TN/DB Pin#4 TN/WT Pin#5 LG/VT there are some wires covered by the main black wire on the top so I can't say for a 100%. Check and see if you have those wires. If you don't it's not a heated seat.

I don't sea the Heated Seat Module so it's not a heated seat. If it's a heated seat it will have these wires in the yellow seat connector Pin #5 WT/LB wire Pin#6 WT wire plus a TN/WT wire a TN/DB wire and a LG/VT wire in the grey seat connector. Unfortunately it's not a heated seat.
