How To Add Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

Maybe unplug the rear seat connection and reset the battery? Fishing here but hoping maybe it's something simple . We have a saying at work- " the most complex avi gripes always end up being the simplest things we overlook because there's no way it could that lol"

I don't have the 6 pin gray connector on my seat harness. When I first installed everything I pushed the buttons and nothing happened at all. No heat no vent. I figured it was going to be a no go. I try ed a few times and nothing seemed to change. I rechecked all my wiring but changed nothing. I started the truck again and everything started to work. I wonder if the module was calibrating itself before it would work. Since my seats don't have the connection for the heated rear seats maybe the module wasn't looking for heated rear seats or something similar?.......

Now that I am thinking about it I better check under there and make sure I don't actually have the connector under there. Is it possible that since my module was originally in a truck without the heated rear seats it was already programmed correctly so it wasn't looking for them?

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I don't know if the module has memory, but there has to be some reason why certain ones flag an error when parts are missing and others don't.

Right now what we do know is that you and I are the only ones who have every feature that we expected. We're also the only ones who have installed all the same equipment that the donor truck had.

Did we have the donor trucks vin for the 2 trucks it worked On? Those are what we need Benny to have to compare.

I hope it works for him. It would suck eggs for me as I won't go that far to get the rear seats and wiring but it will help you guys decipher something.

What's the mystery in the module is the missing piece.

Seeing that physically all the modules are the same, I haven't seen less connectors on the ones that only have heated fronts I wonder if just swaping in one of those would do anything. Heck, did my stock non heated power bighorn power seat have the module?

Gonna have to look Monday.

If he changed a setting in the BCM he would have had to use the tool. There may be a slim chance it could be something that the dealer could change but from what I have seen when I took my truck in there were not a lot of options. They are very limited on what they can turn on in our trucks because it has to go by the available options list. The tool eliminates that and we can pretty much turn on anything that that BCM has. The mirror codes are the only ones that don't seem to want to activate when we use the tool. It is fortunate that Deer Guy had already bought the tool so he was able to go in and actually see the fault codes and kind of help him figure out what direction to go and then obviously figure it out on the BCM. I'm interested to see what he found out. All is not lost though unless I'm understanding this incorrectly which I don't want to speak too soon as long as you find the seats out of a truck that did not have the rear heat option you'll be fine. Remember my seats work perfectly because they came out of a truck without rear heat.

Now you have me confused I thought you turned on the mirror (auto dim) feature yourself with the AE. Are you referring here to the powerfold feature not being there? There must be some way as the OBDII guys claim they can do it?

Speaking of those guys they claim to already have this and are selling it does theirs possibly configure the module(s) as well. But it sounds like Deereguy figured it out. Can't wait to get my hands on my truck. When I do mine I will take extensive photos of everything including the underside of the seats.

So his donor truck did not have rear heated and like mine didn't work. He coded something nownit does, so it's not necessarily the seat module?

Rick was talking about the power fold mirrors... the tool can't activate that, they need to be hard wired, if you want them to work.

LOL ain't that the truth??? Blue Maze is correct I was referring to the side mirrors. I'm sorry I was not more specific. I already activated the auto dim interior rear view mirror and it works perfectly. OBD Genie has said they are working on the power fold option for the side mirrors but I have not seen anything yet.

If you don't want to spend the money for the AE tool OBDgenie has a genie to active all the required sales codes for the heated/cooled seats + wheel. Takes about 30 seconds to flash.

Also there is a genie in testing right now that CAN active the power folding mirrors on trucks that can't take the factory code.

I paid to get the cargo cam and USB working on my '16 radio because I couldn't find another way. I'll also pay them if they figure out the power folding mirror part, but for anything else it makes more sense to just get the AE.

I was talking to them about the power folding mirrors and I think they had the wrong idea about what we were looking for. I explained the issue and never heard from them again, so I'm not sure what's up.

What's the approximate total price of the AE tool? Do I need to buy additional software to use it for flashing our sales codes? Sounds like that the way I'll go too. I'm sure I'll need a bit of walking through the procedure first time around since my gray cells don't work quite like they used to
The CSWM on my 2015 seats is also 68217265AA. I thought my rear seats were supposed to be heated but I don't see the 6 pin connector laying empty on my driver seat so maybe not? Any body have some pic's of the heated rear seat connector? I think mine have 5 wires. Have any of you guys hooked up the rear seat heaters? It certainly isn't a show stopper in my book as it's just my wife and I now, but I can imagine it would be a sweet thing to have down the road

So like most everyone is speculating, I made a change to the BCM using the AE tool. I actually changed the setting in ECU #5 - Memory Settings and set the vented seats option to present. As soon as I did that the vented seats started working. It seems as ECU #3 added the buttons to the screen but ECU #5 actually made the truck know that the vented seats were there. I also set the rear seats to not present using the same ECU but the diagnostic codes for the rear seats persist. I am not sure why but everything works now.
