How To: Install a 2018 4C (UAQ/UAS) Radio in 2013 - 2017 RAM

The USB hub is from my buddies truck. He upgraded to the same radio that CincyCuda68 upgraded too (UAQ 2018 Jeep GC). Mine works perfect without any issues with the original hub and 68331631AH(Ram radio).

Honestly I’m still getting use to the big screen lol it’s soooo much different then that small 5” lol

So i just got off the phone with AT&T Car connect. by chance if you ever want to subscribe to the vehicle hotspot and sign up for the data plans you are going to need the original VIN the the radio head unit came out of. this means as long as you have the original VIN number thats the one you use to sign up on the AT&T car connect website, you DO NOT use your VIN. every radio has a VIN/Donor VIN from FCA attached to it for the u connect and car connect services. if you can get that you can subscribe

I have a 2017 ram 1500 and will be upgrading to the CarPlay. Can anyone confirm whether the backup cam icon will still appear on the screen to turn on and off well driving. I seen in the original post it may or may not appear on the screen after upgrading.

Well me personally. I do not have a camera icon on my radio interface and or menu. It works fine otherwise

I have a UAQ in my '17. I have the button and can view the camera for approx 10-15sec when pushed before it switches back.

Lmao. Well maybe mine just doesn’t like me lol. Wonder if it’s a setting with the radio. Can you take a pic of it so I can do some investigating. Even tho I probably won’t use it ever lol

I see if I can grab a pic for you. The engineering mode was disabled in the one of the updates in '17. I wasn't able to access it in my original 8.5 in my '17.

I have attempted to download the files using the donor VIN but it keeps coming up with no update available. I looked into it further and the TSB 08/113/18 applies to vehicle built after the date of 1/29/2017 until 12/4/2017. The built date on the donor is 1/19/17. Does any one know where i might be able to grab these files? Thank you.

Same here. My radio has the 19.9 version sticker on it. Wondering if I should update to the latest 21.9 version and how. The website says it is up to date when I enter the vin.

There's a whole thread on audio quality/EQ issues on the latest 21.9 application Version & no update in sight to fix it.

Just installed the compass media hub on my 2017 ram 1500 and it works great.

Placed it all the way to the left in the opening. I covered the little gap on the right side with a piece of matte black vinyl car wrap. Looks pretty good.

I assume you have to trim the hub down and cut it out? There is one in the for sale section now. I'm gonna grab that one. Didn't really want to lose both usb ports though. Do the oval double USB ones with the aux in the middle for the 2018 Rams have both usb ports for the radio to read "data" or is it like it's been in the past where one USB is a "data" and the other is strictly for charging?

Has anyone noticed when they search for 68328704AC online you get this schematic for the part from some of the Mopar part retailers? Is this the original rendering and it's changed since then to what we know to be the dual usb with aux in the middle? Or is this actually in production now also?
