I cheaped out lately and bought a set of 5" iBoard steps for the 1500 QC. They seem to work relatively well. However the center bracket doesnt line up anywhere near the boards pre-drilled holes. I read a few places inc reviews and others seem to have also had this. Fortunatly the board still rests on the center bracket so weight distribution should be ok.

Was wondering if anyone else has these installed and what they think about them. I did notice ( I weigh 190lbs) that I do see some flex when I stand on them.

I have them and had a similar problem with the center bracket. I was able to tweak it enough to get the bolts in. The only other issue I have is the paint is flaking off. At some point I'll have a friend of mine build beefier brackets for me

Yeah, I had to file some of the edges of the brackets that sit against the frame of truck and they are already brown with rust.

May I ask how you managed tweaking them to allow fitment for center arm / bracket? I ask as I also noticed that no matter how I attached the bracket to the truck, meaning hand tighten the bolts then tightne a little each one til fully tight, on 2 of the brackets there is a slight gap on the top part that is supposed to sit flush with the truck chassis./ frame. I am not a mechanical engineer but would have thought for weight distribution purposes and so forth the flat bracket must sit totally flat against the truck chasis frame area.?

I can't remember if the center one's ended up being left or right specific or not but I left the front and rear loose so I could line up the center one's and then tighten the center and then front and rear. I do remember one side I had to get the center bolts in then the rear and push everything forward to come close to lining up with the front

With leaving them loose do you mean the step itself or also the bracket plate that attached to truck?
I think they are side specific, because when I test fitted the running boards, one was was way out of alignment in respect to center holes.

Everything loosely bolted up

That's how I installed my iBoards. Mine are the 3" ones, but that shouldn't matter.

I will say the brackets could be a little better and I had to really mess with my drivers side one to get it to sit level.

Overall thought I love and there so thin you don't even notice them.

With all the "messing" and adjustments you guys did. My concern is to have the bracket sit flush against the truck frame. Since I think to adjust the bars to look correct then some of the brackets that attach to the frame will not be level. Thus not evenly distributing the load and causing the frame to perhaps warp .

I do believe all mine sit flush. Like 1500ram12 said. I had every thing lose and did my adjusting. Then tighten the bolts down keeping a eye on everything for it to sit level.

Can you post some pics of where you have it mounted to the body and how far off the center one is from the holes on the step

These are from the driver side, I had the step side braket bolts loose intentionally.

Thanks for the pics. If it's not raining on my morning break I'll compare your setup to mine
