Swung past the dealer again. Still sitting in the same spot since last Thursday. They had told me they were going to keep it inside because it was leaking. We’ve had several heavy rain storms in the past week so my truck has just been sitting outside leaking. I’m really bummed about this.

It is a shame that you have had this experience. Frankly I would ask my attorney, what civil damages can I claim for my time and inconvenience.
BTW Lehigh Valley is one those places in our country that you remember. Spent a lot of time there before I retired.

It’s a great area! And yes, attorney is going to seek additional compensation for the inconvenience. Also, if they were to give me a check for the price I paid for the vehicle, they also need to compensate me for the sales tax I saved by trading in my previous (actually two) vehicles. I saved sales tax on $31k which is approx $2000. I obviously would not have a trade for a new vehicle and would lose this benefit.

I think you are entitled to all that would make you whole, prior to the transaction. I suspect your attorney will demand a full buy back and compensation for the Hollywood two step they have put you through. I am not an attorney, just a guy that wants to see these pukes throat punched. Good luck. Fitz

The more disappointing part is that I really love my truck and love driving it and do think it has the best interior of any pickup. From the day the 5th gen was announced I wanted one and was thankful I found one for a good deal, but now thinking back I’m wondering if I got such a good deal because there was something wrong with this one. It had sat on the dealers lot for more than 6 months before I got it. Maybe there was a reason.

^^^^^^^Wow critical piece of info. Any new vehicle that sits on a dealers lot for 6 months,,,,,,,got to be a reason. I sure agree with you about the styling, features, comfort and price of our RAM trucks. No comparison to Chevy or Ford. I have been a Dodge truck loyalist since 1986. But our 2018 2500 RAM assembly and parts quality has been disappointing. Fitz

My truck was 1 year past build date when I bought it new. 73 miles on it... Why does that mean anything

"Build" date is not an issue. Depends on how it was equipped. Not all trucks coming off the assembly line are "sold" Some go into storage status at plant for a few months. Others get to the marshaling yard and get held there for different reasons.
This member said his was "delivered" to the dealer and did not sell for 6 months. That is unusual and would cause me to be suspect.

The story changed a couple of times AFTER I got it. I was told it was a demo and was used for test drives around the block. It had 1600 miles on it when I got it. AFTER I had it and had my first issue I pressed the dealer more (the vehicle was titled already and I couldn’t bring it back), he told me he loaned it to someone who had a truck in service and that person drove it back and forth to Pittsburgh twice unbeknownst to the dealer which is why they had to sell it as a demo. Completely different scenario than the first one and would have made me not purchase it. Was also told that they had had it since May 2018. It was built in April.

No. I bought the truck NEW from a dealer. It had 1600 miles on it and was being sold as a demo. The salesperson told me it was literally used as a demo unit and that’s why it had some miles on it. 1600 miles is not a big deal and it had not been titled so it was a NEW vehicle. I also asked why it had been there so long and they said not a lot of people like bright red trucks. That I believe because there are not a ton of flame red Laramies available. After I purchased it and had an issue, I talked to the sales manager and the story was different than the first story. It was not second hand at all, and the 1600 miles should not in any way cause any of the issues I’m having unless something happened to it that the dealer is not being honest about which isn’t a stretch to imagine.

I'm just trying to make sense of these problems and now your saying this Ram had a dealer tag on it for 1600miles because it was never titled, doing who knows what!..
I feel your pain however this Ram has unknown history.

Exactly, but it was sold to me as NEW and the story changed after I purchased it and it was titled and there was noting I could do. Now that I’m having a ton of problems I wish I just paid a little more and bought one with no miles. The lemon law applies no matter if it was a demo or 0 miles just the same and it is in process.

I'm so sorry to hear this. This is horrible to hear. U got f'd in the a. Have u considered going to the media? "Shame on you" or something like that may get things done faster.

Let the rest of us know how you come out on this ordeal, as I too am following this thread now. Your situation really sucks and I feel your pain brother! Think I too would have likely "drank the kool-aid" had 2019 models been available in the 2500 line first part of the year.
Best of luck to you and your family.

I’m holding off on stuff like this because it tends to just inflame the situation. At this point only a buy back or brand new vehicle are acceptable solutions and I think FCA knows that. I’m hopeful they’ll do the right thing either on their own or with some legal influence.

Well, day 9 on this visit...truck hasn’t moved, dealer has not reached out, returned a phone call or an email. FCA and the dealer are both open today. We’ll see what happens. My wife is being induced tomorrow and now I have to have other family members help take our newborn home from the hospital on Monday as my truck was our vehicle that can fit 3 car seats. The loaner they gave me can not accommodate 3 and neither can my wife’s car. Obviously she won’t be able to drive or we’d use two cars. Thanks FCA. This is the way I’ll have to remember bringing my newborn son home from the hospital. You’ve been a big help.

@RamCares I can only assume you might be monitoring this post as many members of this forum are. What gives that you've been silent in this post since it started on June 25th. Just curious as to why this owner is being left high and dry ?

If they cared they’d be remotely responsive. The only satisfactory resolution now is telling me where I can pick up a check or a replacement vehicle.
