That's how it started but getting a good scan has been problematic... @reyokonova can expand more on this as he has spearheaded the design effort.
its hard to tell from this but the surface has alot of imperfections and the scan dots show up so if i was to print this it would have little round bumps all over it you can see them on the edges actually.

yes that was the original plan but thats outside my skill level i have the scan of the oem bezel if you want it but i need somone better with 3d cad to clean it up i have 2 friends working on it as a side porject right now and i have to send the bezel you sent me to him so he can take measurements of it once i have a cleaned up scan then i cam merge this into it esentially and we will have it to counter sink it im fairly certian will require to mod the upper dash with a few cuts i had cut mine but @SitKneelBend was able to to make a few changes to my kit and make it fit without cutting anything for this version of the bezel ill add his changes to the 3d files as soon as i can.
I got to shimmying things around a bit and I think there's a good argument for moving the entire screen up a tiny bit (to be able to unplug the LVDS more easily without straining the connection on the board) but I love this design. A full bezel integration would be pretty cool though.

Yeah, I like buttons. It's one of the reasons I didn't start this with the new 14" radios as they integrate more buttons on screen.

ok so I've got the new diverter valve installed and working it must have been a freak coincidence that the other valve had died before or during this process i had hooked it up outside of the pipes so i could make sure it actually actuated and it did however maybe this may help others that come across this the truck refused to clear the code with the new valve installed and was not trying to do the learn process for those that don't know the truck will command the valve to full open then full close and read the voltage/resistance make sure they fall within a predetermined set of values if so then it maps the ones it founds uses that to extrapolate all the various middle positions then will start using the valve oh and it only does this once the truck is up to temp mine never would so the way i finally fixed it was i cleared the code with obdlink not alfa then pulled the battery for 10 minutes plugged it back in then cleared codes again for good measure and this time the valve ran the learn process as soon as i started the truck since it was already hot.

Here's my latest iteration building on @reyokonova 's 12.1" UAX model. I'm loving this 3D printing thing!PXL_20250720_152130260.jpg

Tweaked the front bezel more and used a newish product to print it (polymaker HT-PLA). It looks great against the dash, we'll see how it holds up!

PETG is probably the way to go here for longevity but that looks great as is!

The first few were all PETG but polymaker recently came out with a high temperature PLA and it prints amazing. The support brackets behind are still PETG though. I'm pretty stoked to see how this HT-PLA performs. Check out the videos on YouTube...

That looks awesome
Thanks! We are still tweaking some things but this setup is pretty freaking cool. Some might think it sits too high but when you see it in person it feels like the ideal placement for the radio IMO...

Couple updates, I used @Mpgrimm2 's/M2Mods 8.4 ATC conversion harness and the required sensors (humidity sensor gifted by @reyokonova with a custom 3D printed mount :) ) and activated Single zone ATC on my 2014 Express with the 12.1" UAX installed. So far as I can see everything works but I'm continuing to test...

Almost perfect now. If I ever get my hands on an 8.4 or RA2 detailed scan of the bezel (preferably without the knobs), we can make this really perfect. One of the biggest challenges of integrating a screen into a bezel is the print volume needs to be very large. My 256x256 printer is at its max printing at a 45 degree angle for the screen bezel. As of now, this can be done without cutting any factory parts.

How did you make out on this one? Were you able to resolve and how?

I actually have the same problem with a backup UAX module I purchased. It only boots one time. Seller gave me a discount to keep it for spare parts. Asked the experts (@Jimmy07 , etc...) verdict is no fix yet. I can flash different firmware with the same results too (just haven't tried it in a different truck yet. When it's in this state, not even AlfaOBD can make changes to it (says radio is in diagnostic mode).

Ok, I figured out my issue after replacing the BCM from my 2014 with a 2016 and the Occupant Restraint Control Module (ORC Module) illuminating the airbag light on the dash. Even though the error said "vehicle line" the actual issue was the Max Vehicle speed value changed from 255kmh to 510kmh when restoring the backup configuration from my 2014 BCM. The max allowable range is 0-500kmh in the setting throwing an implausible value error message as well. However, when I changed the value with AlfaOBD to 255kmh the BCM actually saved the value as 256kmh for some reason.

I also found before making the change that folks say you only get one shot at changing the max vehicle speed which seems to be true as I tried setting it again to 254kmh to get the BCM to store 255kmh but it wouldn't take (no error but no change). I bet there is a way to get it to take the value again, but I'm not going to be the one to find out unless something else breaks. You will need to shut down the truck, let the power/dash lights go completely off, then start the engine for the airbag light to clear.

I have had several other issues pop-up with this BCM change too that are perplexing. The Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) reading was -40 degrees meaning it wasn't communicating with the BCM. I checked the BCM C4 connection on Pins 22 and 23 to check for damage and all was well, plugged it back in and still nothing. I have two spare AATs in my workshop from old mirrors and swapped it out in the driver mirror which fixed the issue (it was the original AAT from the factory).

The only other issue I'm aware of now is that my headlights are always on now when set to Auto on the dial. I'm sure I'll figure it out but I'm open to suggestions if anyone else has experienced this. I'm betting going line by line through the BCM will illuminate this issue too...
Oddly having same issue when swapping in a 2016 bcm into my 2015 with the max speed however my original settings before touching the bcm was set at max 510 and thus transferred over to the new 2016 bcm. So I am wondering if that is an issue at all since I never had any issues while it always had 510km set before the swap. Did you ever fix this issue? I am currently working on mine and will report back if it is still linked to the airbag light and other codes I am experiencing post swap. Trying to correct before I hook up the UConnect 5 radio module and 12 screen I just got in today out of a 2022 1500.

Fixed it, well in regard to the airbag light, so the 510kmh doesn't appear to be an issue for me at least. the fix was I had to change the "Vehicle Configuration Programmed Status" to yes. I do still have a fault code in the bcm for the humidity sensor though.
