Installing OEM backup cam

This dealer is driving me crazy...won't install any codes unless they install the stuff themselves.

Well got backup is cam installed. When I went to pick up the truck I noticed the compass worked, so I pushed the homelink button, and it said training channel 1. So they did up adding it I don't know if mechanic read the ladies note wrong and added it or what but they work. Was just looking in my radio and noticed I was missing the option about remote start so I tried that and that doesn't work now. [emoji17] Good thing is they installed the remote start so they need to fix that lol

So at dealer now apparently the remote start code was deleted out of the system and they don't know how to put back in the truck. And apparently there are options in my truck now that shouldn't be in there. This is all after backup cam install from them. Does anybody have idea how something like this could happen? I know the lady doesn't believe me because the overhead console options are working now and saying that I had someone add them....

I have a theory.
Likely when they installed the back up cam and came to the end of the install where it's required of them to flash in the sales code XAC , They did not understand how , ( the last page of the instructions give a step by step guide for only the dealer to use ?? ) they must have missed that entire page .... anyhow so here they are trying desperately to figure out how to install the XAC code and they fail , so they start experimenting on other codes that you don't have and some that you do have , basically they are hands on train themselves at the expense of your vehicle .
They should not accept a job to install the kit if they don't even know how to do the easiest part !
I installed my kit myself , my dealer tech took about 7 minutes start to finish to install the XAC code for the back up cam .
I recently had 4 more codes flashed in at no charge while they performed the 3 airbag related recalls .

I hate that you are going through this sir , I hope you the best !

I guess the remote start was completely deleted out of the vehicle. I'm sure your right on what you just said. In a 2014 RAM Express the second option in the pic shouldn't be there correct? That won't be for passive entry?

I have the headlight illumination approach ... , I also had it in my 3.0 no frills cluster prior to my upgrade ? .?

Well I'm guessing when I went to get the overhead console codes a while back they added them but didn't flash bcm. So when I got the backup cam installed and they added XAC and flashed the bcm it activated the overhead console as well? That's only thing I can think? And the remote start they don't know how it got deleted. I'm sure it was probably what R.L.K said they didn't know what they were doing so we're playing around in the system.

See Mpgrimm2 post # 10 here . Within his post and links to other post I can almost guarantee you you'll figure this out .
Most likely it's wrong @ the radios C -1 connector 31.32.33 OR at the connector you populated @ the radio connector under the drivers side dash near the pedals .

Found my problem was that I tied into the wrong pink/yellow wire in the PDC... took me half a day to track it down with my continuity tester. But I'm up and running now. I thought the instructions for that step were pretty bad.

I recommend using a continuity test across the PDC and the fuse. I learned you can test continuity through the top of the fuse while it's installed.

Trust me I hope they do too! If I could get the C-5 a little farther out I'd be able to see the wire, to me it LOOKS like it's not spliced into the right wire, but I can't get the wire bundle out far enough to see it.

Sorry it's been really hectic, unfortunately, I never made it to the dealer to have them fix the line problem (or lack thereof) but I have grown used to not having lines and honestly kind of like it. I use the camera mainly for hooking up trailers and backing into parking spaces so they aren't really necessary and I like just being able to see!

You're supposed to be able to but my camera doesn't give me the option, almost like it doesn't detect that they're available
