The backup cam will continue to work just fine without this wire even connected , I know this because I had mine disconnected for days while troubleshooting not having the active grid lines.

This is good to know. I have the camera wired into what I think are the correct spots on the radio connector (there are some differences of opinion out there, and when I wired it the first time after depopulating some wires, the radio wouldn't come on).

When I switch to reverse the radio swaps to a blue screen but has a message saying system not available.

I do not yet have the lead to the PDC under the hood connected. I had been searching for a clear reference on where this connected, and believe I have now confirmed that to be 5 slots from the top right, 10 amp or so reading (which I confirmed). Is this connection likely the cause for the above?

- Post 26: I am betting you have already looked at it, but just in case you haven't. It shows the correct location for the Camera Wires at the radio as well as the color codes for pins 1,2,3 that people sometimes mix up with it and have to put back correctly for the radio to come on. NOTE: there are small reference pin numbers embossed on the back of the connector.
(sounds like you may have already figured this out).

- Blue Screen in reverse = XAC sales code flash good

- "System not Available" blue screen message? (no one has mentioned that yet)
Sounds likely since there isn't any power going back to the camera from the PDC yet. Not sure if you have seen RLK's Post 290 referencing the PDC power wire at C7-13 (I have a bunch of links in Post 10).

I bet there are likely tiny embossed numbers on the PDC connectors that can also be used for confirmation.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I am thinking the same thing, hoping to connect it up tonight and see if everything's good. That post really helps to confirm the PDC wire, thanks for that.

On the wiring for the radio connector, yep I saw that post after I had wired it the wrong way, I think I've got it correct now. I am pretty sure I have one of the earlier run 2013 trucks where they just didn't include the extra wiring like they seem to have in later cases. I was looking for wires to remove, but in my case there weren't any present. Also confirmed this by looking at the wiring harness from OEM for the new 8.4 radio, they had the OEM backup wires labeled, and that allowed me to confirm that I now believe they are correct.

Appreciate the help.

Is their anyone from central Wi out here that installs these cameras.
Your dealer can install this OEM Kit for you $$$$$ too much $$$ , I recommend to install it yourself !

If you know your capabilities and you are sure you should let the professionals do it , then visit your local Audio shops , there's lots of very capable sound system guys that this kit would be simple for them ...

Hope this helps !

From post 10 (have a look for more info)

Here are the current Ram/Chrysler OEM kit directions (and P/N's) for adding the factory Parkview Camera to 2013-2015 Ram Trucks depending on your Trim Level/radio i.e. Express/RA1 vs rest/RA2,RA3,RA4.

- PN 82214240 (RA2, RA3, RA4 Radios as monitor)
$300 parts/$507 installed at dealership
K6862043 2013-2015 Ram Parkview Cam w RA2 RA3 RA4 Radio Monitor PN 82214240
Those prices were from my dealer in VA

Yep. It's more expensive because of the monitor in it.

Could somebody with access to wiring diagrams please tell me what circuit F923 powers in a 2014 Express that didnt come with a factory Parkview camera? Im going to do my install tomorrow and dont want to splice in anything. Especially when I can just cut off (I dont believe that wire/curcuit is used anyway) the PK/YL wire at F923, and connect the camera power right to it.

Pretty sure it's just for Parkview ? Not positive . This is how I done mine .
I soldered in the red pwr wire to it .

Ok, I was not going to reconnect the original F923 wire though.

It also powers the cargo Cam if installed. Not sure about anything else anymore.

Nope. 2-3 weeks now.
Prior free/demo link many of us used for schematics in our trucks at Chrysler TechAuthority Demo site
We're screwed out of the access (that we shouldn't have had anyway.)

I wonder if we start a new thread about it, and try to get the RamCares forum Rep(Erica?) to look into it we can maybe get some sort of limited access back.

Wishful thinking maybe, but what do we have to loose?

Fyi.
Finally found the link on my pc to sign up for paid TechAuthority access after the free demo went offline ...

3 day trial: $35
30 day trial: $250
1 year: . . . $1800

That puts a severe damper on my ability to track down wiring info for our trucks.
Arrgh!
.

I've been tempted to pay the $35 for the 3 day trial. Gonna wait until I'm ready to put in the Backup Cam though.

Speaking of, does anyone still have the PDF that had the info for the 13 Express/Tradesman?

I've been trying that one. Thought it was just this computer but it won't pull up on my phone either. I'll try the laptop at home later.
