I have a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7l Outdoorsman and have been having trouble with a dead battery. Found the culprit, but no clue where to go to solve the issue. The culprit is my instrument cluster waking up almost every other minute or so. I saw a thread about the radio software waking it up, but when I threw my VIN into the UConnect website it said I was up to date. I've pulled the BC fuse in the hopes of resetting it, but to no avail. If anyone has some areas to look into before I start having a mechanic begin to drain my bank balance I'd very much appreciate it.

Pretty sure there are 2 fuses for the radio. One is an inline fuse along the drivers side of the firewall in engine compartment. I may be mistaken but pretty sure I recall that being discussed at some point.

Did you try doing a hard reset on the radio? Use the search function above to find the procedure.

You can find the latest (and last) firmware for your truck in @Mpgrimm2 's post here...

Here's the direct download link from his thread.

My 15’ has that inline fuse, under the brake master cylinder, just to make sure it’s hard to get to.

Somethings waking up the canbus. I've seen videos of the hvac module doing it and the brake ABS doing it.

I did an AI search on 1780494739559.png

There is a lot there to try. Have fun!
