Recently I replaced the cv axle on my 14 ram. Upon doing so i noticed the cv was not the problem. My lock ring was gone allowing my cv axle to slide almost all the way off the intermediate shaft I'm having troubles finding a new lock ring. Dealer told me I needed to replace the whole intermediate shaft. Theres gotta be other options i would think. Any help would be great

i know this post is old but i had same problem. I made a new one out of an old spring. I used my driver side one and a micrometer to find out what size spring to use. Then just measure the diameter of shaft so you know how much to cut away from spring.

In case you have this problem again thought it could help

I had mine at a garage a while back and the mechanic did the same and just replaced the broken lock ring with one he made out an old spring as well. She’s been through ice roads and off roads and has held up perfectly!
