Found a good deal on some Kicker speakers. I know everyone speaks highly of them on here. I'm running a 10" Kicker Sub powered by a 1000W Amp. Wanting to put Kickers KS35 in the dash and 4 DS525's in the 4 doors. Any thoughts? Should I go with all 4 of the same speakers in the doors or should i do different ones for front and back? Planning on running them off the amp.

it won't hurt for all 4 door speakers to be the same. The front doors will hold bigger speakers than the rear doors. Most people tend to match the stock size

No problem running all the same size. Are you thinking of using the stock amp? If so, don't expect too much from the speakers.

even off factory radio the DS is the way to go, if you plan to later add power form an extrernal amp, do the KS then.

Reverse that. The openings on all four doors are the same size but the rear doors can take on bigger speakers. Example would be the Kicker KS693's, they drop right in the rear doors with no spacers, rings, or baffles at all. The front doors however, if you go with speakers that are the same depth of the KS693's, then you'll need spacers to make it fit.

So you can fit 6x9's in the rear, they just need some modification? Will they fit with the door cover on?

yep, the space available in the rear doors is ridiculous. The 693's drop right in with plenty of space behind and maybe 1/4"....1/8" between the speaker and the grille on the door.

Really? I guess maybe the doors on a reg cab are different? The first time I put one in the mount without spacers the magnet rested on the window brace that goes down the center of the speaker mount and still had a nice gap before the mount and the speakers mount.
