They still build the regular cab short bed in gm trucks, but they are built and sent only to the middle east countries. I read this and seen a 2021 truck. The truck you see here made its debut in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year.
That Chevy looks like it's been beaten with an ugly stick

Well, it appears Chevy/GMC will offer a Regular Cab - Short Bed Combo for 2022. I expect to see some people jumping ship.
Will never buy another GM. The CEO jumped on the political train, and said the Current Commander in Chief is basically the best thing since sliced bread. No thanks.

My complaint with every car maker is you can't get every model they make here in the USA. I know I know, costs blah blah blah.

Why is it all the other countries get variety while we get consolidation and things like SUV's with Mustang badges on them?

I saw some blurb in the news about pickup truck sales being up. It's because they are the only vehicles that offer any character or opportunity to personalize them (aside from most every Dodge).

I bought my wife a brand new 2017 Taurus SE and only paid 16.9k for it in 2017. Its been a great car so far. The only thing I did was add seat covers and Weathertech floor mats.
I looked for things to do to the Taurus. They are just not built to be personalized. I could get a remote start, but on that car I would have the dealer install it so I'm in no real hurry.

You know, I have opened the hood on that car 2 times since I bought it. Once at the dealership the day I bought it, and once this year just to blow any dust out. The dealer does the oil changes and filters every 5k (not at 30k yet).

My point is I've changed the oil/filter, fuel filter, replaced the hood insulation, added stripes, put in a whole new stereo system, added a bed cover and weathertech mats, added factory rear wheel well shields and factory mud flaps all around, fixed all of the typical wiring problems, replaced a leaky headlight and cracked passenger side mirror all in one year on the Ram- Most of it just for fun.

In my neighborhood you can buy a whole house for what a new truck costs. Anyone that can afford a new truck is either going to treat it like I treat my Taurus and keep it showroom new and unmodified, or they are going to personalize the hell out of it, because they can. There is no way I would have paid the extra 10k+ they were asking for the next model up on the Taurus when all it bought you was a better stereo, bigger wheels and nicer paint, not to mention the extra 30k they wanted for a SHO. Like so many other cars these days, customizations just look silly and out of place, it's boringly dependable, which is good, just boring.

Sorry for the lengthy rant.

There ya go, my Ford fandom ended in 1979. I had a 1977 2WD 3/4 ton with a 490ci/4spd back in 1990. I would trade my 2013 Laramie to have that Friggen Old Rebuilt Dodge again

I love my RCSB, I have no need of another seat and although there have been times i wished I had the long box, the short bed just looks great and is mighty nice for ease of parking and maneuvering.

Frankly, that tiny truck may look silly but I'm a 5 foot-nothing female and that would be just the right height for me lol! Really, I wish they'd bring back the Dakota, that was honestly the perfect truck for me.
I'd love a new Dakota, make it like the old ones, sort of a shrunk 1500. Maybe even sneak us a 392 version.

I wouldn’t give up my Ram for one but really liked my last Dakota. It was an 03 or 04, 4wd and had the 4.7 V8. I want to say the sticker was 27k and I paid 24k, lol. That truck ran strong!

I still don't get why Ram dropped these? Seems when they sold them no one wanted them now everyone does? I personally hate the extra set of doors/seats. Always had regular cabs until this truck
They had to, CAFE forced compliance. FCA doesnt have enough ev vehicles to offset sq ft versus gas mileage, gm does I guess.

Mine ended in the 90's when I bought my first Dodge truck..
But the 1979 F series is still a personal favorite...

I'd buy one tomorrow if they would offer one in their top trim (LTZ/SLT) option. I use my truck more for commuting than anything else because I love trucks and never been a huge fan of cars. I've always wanted a single cab short bed truck but every one of the manufacturers assume that if you're in the market for that type of truck you want a stripped down base model that has no carpets, manual windows, an AM/FM radio, and a engine and bench seat left over from 1979. They won't even let you order one with all the creature comforts because I've tried. It seems if I am ever going to get one to my preference I either have to cut a crew cab in half or install all the upgrades in a single cab myself.
