I reached out to a dealer about my 2020 2500 Longhorn dash bubbling up. Since it was past the 3/36, my truck only had 31k miles on it at the time, but it was in 2024, they told me there was nothing they could do, and it would be $2800 to replace it.

An $80k truck with a dash that can't even last 4 years. @RamCares I guess I'm on the hook for this? I went to the dealer, they told me it won't be covered.

@RamCares you guys should really address this issue via a recall.

You know that reaching to the dealer does nothing because the dealerships cannot replace the dash under warranty unless Ram approves it. Most dealers are not going to cover this under a goodwill program because it is not an issue they created. It seems to only be an issue from 19-21, so why not fix it?

I'm willing to bet you changed suppliers, a process, or a product since the 22+ models don't seem to have a glue issue. Would go a long way to keep Ram owners loyal to the brand.

This will never be a recall since it is cosmetic, and not safety related. It's very rare for a manufacturer to issue a recall for a non safety related issue. But they should issue a TSB for a warranty extension, and actually include every Limited, Longhorn, and TRX in that TSB.

Yea I know...

But, it does seem to be some sort of quality issue that was apparently addressed at some point since the newer models haven't been prone to the issue. My main point is that they need to officially issue some sort of guidance because folks are indeed in a feedback loop between the dealer and the manufacturer. It's a lot of telling the customer to reach out to the dealer, who tells them to reach out to Ram, who tells them to talk to the dealer, etc.....

I've voluntarily recalled parts that we've made simply to keep a customer base happy. The cost of doing that in a couple of instances were far less than the cost of having an unhappy customer base who decides to shift to a competitor. I won a large contract back in 2010 not because we were the cheapest, but because that customer knew we stood behind our product.

I have gone to multiple dealerships and received multiple prices. I have had the Dash ranging from $799 to $999 and labor running from $1500 to $2700. I have heard 7 hours and 11 hours from 2 different dealers. I am planning on getting this fixed but the crazy pricing is very much a deterrent. Has anyone else had this done and how much did you pay?

@RamCares I own a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited, and the dashboard has completely separated at most of the seams. How is this not considered a safety concern? Are the airbags stored beneath the dashboard cover? Could they also be damaged? I have contacted the dealership and was informed I could pay for repairs out of pocket, which is not a feasible option for me. I would appreciate any assistance.

My 2019 Limited did the same thing. In 2023, At around 89K miles is started to get bad. I went to local dealer, who has been great, and they advised their territory guy who instructed me to open a Ram Care case. I gave the dealer the case number, who then gave it to the rep. I had my entire dash fixed at no cost to me. Ram covered everything. Call me lucky I guess. Sorry for those that I have read about, not getting support from their dealer or Ram. I love my truck, but my dealer has a lot to do with that.

This is what mine looked like

It’s not Ram it’s who ever does the leather dash application and the crappy faulty glue they used.

Heck 2nd gens will do a full dash delete for you within a few years. :)

Been pretty happy with all 4 of my 4th gens. Never had a single dash issue with any of those.

Yes, @RamCares I am having the same issue and not happy about it at all! 2021 Ram 1500 Limited with 71k. For the price I paid for this vehicle, this should not be an issue! Contacted Ram Cares and was told there was nothing they could do for me because I was out of factory warranty. Agree with others that it doesn't do a lot for building brand loyalty when this is such a widespread problem.
