I have a 2006 Ram 1500 with a 4.7l.
Last week it just started ticking real loud, kind of sounds like driver side. Figured it was lifters. Got all new lifters, valve cover gaskets, decided to do oil change with new filter and new plugs and coil packs.
Get it all done and put back together and when I started it everything sounded good. No tick other than the normal cold start tick I've always had with it. Let it run at idle while I picked tools up and cleaned my mess up. The loud tick came back when it got to temp.
What else could it be? I'm at a loss on this one.
