I called MBRP the other day and asked for a price on the muffler that comes from their catback kits...I mean I don't need another catback, just the muffler...Um yeah....$269+shipping. I laughed and said thanks dude. $300 for a muffler. I like MBRP but they have alway shad the mindset their **** don't stink. So much for getting MBRP muffler now.

I know when I switched from a magnaflow to a flowmaster on my old truck there was a noticeable difference in the higher rpms. It seems like the flowmaster helped on the bottom end but quit pulling in the upper rpms like the magnaflow did. Unless your heavily modding or hot rodding your truck then get the sound you like

Yep me too. I had a super 10 (loved the sound) and lost .2 on my 0-60 when I removed it and straight piped it; but gained on my 60-120MPH big time. When it come to exhaust systems they can be tuned to perform down low or up high. Can't have it both ways (in most cases) but the goal is to find a good medium. OR, go with the straight through design and drop a high stall TC and have it all:favorites13:

The 18" MagnaFlow hit the spot!
Sounds a tiny bit lower than the FM 50 HD and little less drone.

Had it installed within a hour of UPS dropping it off.

Very pleased!

Just went from a 2.5 inch true dual system with a 14''inch magnaflow true x-pipe muffler to a single in dual out flowmaster 50 series hd muffler. The muffler flows well and is made specially for the hemi. I regained my low end torque and more, mpg is still a max 23mpg highway at 65mph. Wish I had done this before.

I liked me 50 on my other truck I guess I didn't want to spend a lot of money This time. I
just for that 18 inch magna flow on there and I like the way it sounds. It's a little bit deeper tone than the Flowmaster 50 but it's not as loud. I miss the little bit extra loudness sometimes

The 50 series hd is a very good muffler choice for the hemi engine, it's the only muffler specially designed for the hemi, the right combination of flow and back pressure.

I can't agree with this...because Flowmaster just claimed its "specifically" for the HEMI, yet its just a standard 50HD muffler. Nothing special in reality.

The hd direct fit, just fits the hemi. My son has the suv 50 it's not near as loud.

actually, if you want to completely literal, the direct bolt on muffler it is in fact 100% "specific" for the ram hemi. The inlet pipe and outlet pipes are designed specifically to be a direct bolt on ( both front and back ), without increasing or decreasing any sizes of the inlet and outlet pipes. Whether the flow is "specifically" designed for the ram hemi, well, thats a different story.

Well upon reading all of everyone's thoughts, I've decided I'm hoping for the Borla. I'm not modding my Ram for speed, I want a deeper but not over the top sound. Plus I want the peace of mine of figment, quality, and ease of install. :)

I see no borla owners have chimed in. But ill share my experience with it so far over the past year. Previously. Ive had a bunch of different setups on my trucks. True duel super 10s. Magnaflow singles. Straight piped ovals. Etc. And none of them compare to the borlas i have now. The sounds deep. And rich. Like a tiger purring before it kills something. i dont think there are many borla owners down my way because the sound turns heads. Its not your everday aftermarket exhaust sound. Its nice and low. The rpm climb during normal driving is nice. WOT with the borla is really when you get to hear beethovens 5th. Its ******* beautifully nasty in all the right places and its not loud and obnoxious sounding with that brapbrapbrap at WOT like other brands listed. Or the cackle and pop of downshifting. No drone. And the beeeeest part. You can have a conversation with someone while your driving. Now i know i sound like an old man saying that. But at 25 ive owned enough stupid loud trucks to wanna tone it down a bit. And well its just nice. 10/10 would reccomend borla. Oh ya. And install is a breeze. Youll have a harder time removing the stock muffler. And rubber hanger pieces are a bit of a pain. I just spit on em. Slid right in :licklips:

Ill get a video if you guys want. The neighbours have slept in enough today anyway.

^^^, well this is another reason why I'm going full Borla as I've had it on all of my cars and can't see it not being great for my Ram. :)

Mufflers are really a personal choice.

You will gain a little with a straight thru type though.

With 395hp it won't be that big a difference anyways. But every bit helps. ;)

I went with a dual in dual out muffler from Magnaflow. It did make a bit of difference to me. Engine seems to breathe better and low end is nice.

I had a set of these Classic Chambered Exhaust Inc. - Products on my Tundra 5.7 and it sounded AWESOME. No drone, pretty quiet at idle, but it growled pretty good when you got on it. Straight through design, no internal packing to blow out. Great product and reasonably priced... you just need a custom shop to pipe it for you, as they only sell the mufflers.

I don't know if you used wd40 on your muffler and hangers or not. I literally had my muffler and tailpipes off in less than 10 min.
