So..
I have a 2013 Ram with the 5.7 and only 97k kilometres on it. Purchased it just short of a year ago.
About 2 months ago the CEL came on throwing the p1524 code which according to my research is "Oil pressure out of range - Camshaft advance/retard". Since then it once threw a second code which I forgot to write down but it was for a faulty oil pressure sensor, it went and never came back just leaving me with P1524. Shortly after purchasing the girl I noticed very minor interruptions with the idle. I've had cars in the past with misfires and although it acts like that it its jumping its incredibly more subtle, ranging from 10-30 rpm in jumps. So I researched that back when I first noticed and some said theirs have done it virtually there whole ownership and could never get rid of it, some others suggested other little tweaks or possible issues. It never affected power or fuel consumption so I ended up forgetting it entirely until the CEL came. I researched both of the uses combined and my first step was checking and cleaning the throttle body. There wasn't much build-up but I removed it and cleaned it anyway. I cleared the code and drove the truck for two days but the code came back and the idle never settled. I was hoping to get some insight with anyone whos more informed or has more experience with this issue before I go and replace the oil pressure sensor as I just joined the armed forces and currently stuck on recruit pay before BMQ is started back up due to COVID, some I'm trying to save as much money as possible lmao.
Cheers
