First off, if this is in the wrong section, I apologize, I’m new. Ok, I’ll try and make this as painless as possible. I just bought a 2019 1500 Classic 5.7. First truck. It has basic mirrors heated, but that’s pretty much it. I want to put OEM tow mirrors with signal and puddle lights, both features I don’t have. Can I just purchase the mirrors from a salvage yard and plug them into the door module, and use AlfaOBD to program them? Or am I chasing something that is not possible? I noticed there are 8 spots in the module, and only 4 are used. Are one of those spots for the features I’m looking for?

The current door modules on your truck should support every option exept Power Fold. You should be able to install a set of Tow Mirrors off of a 2013 to 2018 Ram. You will need to enable the blinker/puddle light codes in order for them to work and then the tow mirror code in order for them to adjust correctly when open. You can use the Alfa tool to enable the codes or the dealer should be able to enable the codes. Make sure if you go aftermarket you use a good brand like Trail Ridge. Some people have had issues with the cheap knockoffs being wired incorrectly.

my truck has them as a factory option, can't see why one can't install a set. they just do not have the power fold feature.
