With a Transponder key, you will not be pressing buttons when the Key is in your pocket & you are carrying fertilizer, bags of gravel, etc.

I started my Ram with the FOB in my pocket, while carrying Mulch up some stairs

Okay, I'll close my input into this thread. Thank you all who responded. The transponder key option sounded good, but two locksmiths told me it absolutely would not work with a 2022 fob and the Y170 folks said they were unable to confirm on a vehicle this new. Taking the fob apart and disabling the panic button sounds like a great idea but apparently the new fobs are different: mine has no screws accessible. Given that pocket space is limited in my budget bluejeans, I like the idea of hanging the thing on a carabiner some place where I am less likely to bump it. So I’ll just leave the fob in the truck when parked on our garage, and use the carabiner when traveling. Again, thank you all for your time.
