Hey guys. First post here on the forums. I've lurked around a bit prior to this, but I come seeking some help.

I'm driving an '01 1500 SLT 5.2L V8

Recently I had the seal near the outflow of my muffler blow out, so I'm in the market of replacing it. Figured I'd save myself some money and DIY. Right now I have the stock muffler installed. I believe it's a 28" length body, the in/outs are 2.5" in diameter, and that it's offset.

I'm looking at putting a Magnaflow muffler on it and if something like the Magnaflow XL 13746 would be right to put on.

Hope yall can help. Thanks guys!

You'll just need to make sure measurements are alright and you should be good. Grab some clamps too to bolt it up. BTW parts of the exhaust on our 00-01 trucks are 3" so careful where you cut. You'll be able to visually tell what parts are bigger.

Seems like that would fit almost spot on aside from the outflow pipes being a tad shorter than the stock ones. I saw that it seemed to go to a 3" a little after outflow pipe, so I'll be cautious about that. Clamps are gonna be a must since the ones on it now are almost completely rusted out. Just one of the beauties of living in Northwest PA and our winters.
