So last month I had the truck in for a coolant leak. Turns out the water pump went bad. Was sitting about 98k miles. The dealership did the replacement. The first "new" pump they installed they said it was found faulty. Never elaborated on it. They reinstalled another water pump and they claimed it was good. I am now having to take it back in do to another leak at the water pump. So this will be the 3rd "new" pump installed in a month. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?????? This is REDICULOUS.

It was a dealer so I would think so but did they use an oem replacement? I’ve had horrible aftermarket water pump luck as well, finally stopped having issues when I used an oem.
I have a question for you? When you all replaced your water pumps did the vanes on the water pump were they Teflon or cast. As your motor heats the water up the Teflon will flex not allowing the water to move properly. If you use a cast impeller it won't flex. Just saying that is where I found out I was having problems at in the OEM parts by ram. Went in 3 different times and they replaced them 3 different times. When it happened the 4th time, I bought a cast Impeller unit and had them replace it they said they wouldn't warranty it I said that was fine I still have that same cast one in the truck 300,000 miles later. with no leaks or cooling issues.

I have no idea, it was a few years ago now and I didn't look that close. Whatever the OEM is is what worked for me.
