Hi, I have a 2009 ram 1500 5.7. I recently put a cam in and everything runs smoothly from what I can tell from driving it. I'm experienced and have done with before with no issues. But on this truck when I use the auto start, after a short period it will shut off due to random misfire. If I'm driving, the cel will sometimes come on, but there is nothing I can point to and say "this happens when I do this." When I run data logs, bank 1 ltft is 20-30% and bank 2 is 10-15%. These numbers are pretty consistent regardless of adjustments to my VE tables. I have replaced the MAP sensor, spark plugs, 02 sensors, and injectors. None of which looked out of the ordinary when removed. I scoped the bores and see no issues with piston to valve clearance or signs that they made contact. I also did a compression test and all read over 170psi and hold it for at least a few minutes. At this point I'm not sure what else to do but start opening the engine back up. I am not really trying to do that for obvious reasons. I've tried a lot of different things through the tune to see whats causing it with no success. Has anyone else gone through this or have any suggestion? Thank you

So it's saying the engine is running lean and the O2 sensors are telling it to add more fuel. The bank 1 long term fuel trim states 20-30% but what does the short term fuel trim look like? Is the stft always showing 20-30, or just under certain conditions?
In regards to Auto Start I assume you are talking about the remote start? You don't have this issue if you start it normally and let it sit there and idle for the same period of time? That would sound strange as I don't know why remote start would be any different.
Also sounds like you have played with the tune. Is the engine stock or has aftermarket parts?

I noticed that I didn't specify in the post that long terms are negative 20-30% on bank 1 and negative 10-15% on bank 2. The short term is never more than -15% on both banks until the long term trims start recording. Then the stft they will lower to +/-5% at running temp.

Yes remote start is what I meant. I would say the only difference from remote start to keying it on is that if I'm actually sitting in the truck, it doesn't idle for as long but still gets up to temp before driving.

It has a 214/224 cam and shorty headers, nothing too crazy. I have tuned it, but I've started the tune from the beginning a couple of times and I don't believe that is the problem. I've tuned this same cam in a car and also my stroker motor (different cam). I'm not saying I didn't miss something, but I'm pretty confident that I am missing something physically wrong. When I adjust the ve tables, it doesn't affect the fuel trims at all. If everything was good mechanically, I should at least see them react.

From what I can tell, a) fuel or a contaminant is getting into the combustion chamber and is making the 02 sensors read rich (they are new so i know they are not fouled)
b) Somehow less air is getting into the combustion chamber than my map sensor is reading, therein making it rich. This could possibly be because the valves are not opening properly opening/closing or some other internal issue caused by my hand which I will reluctantly admit later if it's true.

I could be way off, I'm not sure because it still runs pretty well. It just has that intermittent stumble once a minute while idling. Thank you for the response, any other questions I will answer the best I can.
