So after reading all of this.. let me see if I understand correctly?

The new 4.1amp will sound BETTER with the stock speakers (non-alpine) than the upgraded MOPAR kicker speakers? Why would they make the amplifier compatible with an inferior speaker?

So if I'm bone stock right now, if I bought the $1200 kit.. my audio will sound better than if I installed the Kicker77's??

Yes.
The aftermarket Kicker77 speakers are factory drop in replacements. But the 4.1 does utilize the factory speakers, but it adds more power to them, clip limiters, a dull array of DSP functions. Right now, listening to your factory system I bet you cant, or barely can hear the 3.4" in the dash.
Well when we added this kit to my 2015, it was a HUGE improvement. I have the ability to get basically whatever I want, and I really enjoy this system.
On a factory speaker/radio setup, most crank the volume all the way up and distortion is the result. With the 4.1 you get cleaner power, more headroom, and clip limiters so you can go max volume without the chance of distortion.

Geez.. there goes another $1200!! I better at least wait until I get the Maxtrac 7" lift that sitting in my garage and wheels and tires coming from Mr. Wheel installed before I go after this or I'll be spending more money in divorce court!! LOL.. "Sorry kids, Christmas sucks this year cause Daddy got a new truck!"

LOL...well on the bright side, $1200 is MSRP, , for example, MSRP on the sub alone is like $699, people have gone to Hi Fi Sound Connection and used the 'make offer' and got sub for $415....

just sayin' :D

$418 is the lowest they will accept through trial and error...

An interesting thread folks. Following this as I'll be taking delivery of a 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn next Friday and learned on a test ride that the base stereo system needed a sub. Before reading this I was planning on speakers and a sub. After finding this thread, I'm going to go with the PRAMCQ13 package only and retain the stock speakers. I don't want, or need, anything hard core but I want a more full/well rounded experience. Thanks for your expertise everyone. I'm watching.

hey Grey - and others...

Little confused as others were on some things. So, in a few months I will be heading home (overseas contractor) and buying a 2017 Sport CC. The dealership orders Alpines for everything so I have no doubt the Sport will have it. I would like to increase sound clarity, bass, mids, etc. Just enhance sound to better standards.

Is it possible to switch in the Mopar/Kicker units all around? Or will they not play correctly? I think its 77KICK42 and 41 + sub? In other words, all drop in PNP and go or no? Thanks guys

If you have a couple of months, and your dealer only orders Alpine, you might wanna order one now without it if you want to upgrade to a Kicker system.

sub will work, doors, no, impedance is different on Alpine based trucks.

While these speakers are significantly less expensive, I think the upgrade kit most highly recommended is the stock speakers with the PRAMCQ13 subwoofer with the DSP amplifier. It's very expensive at $1249 but supposedly the most effective.

Double check me on the Kicker part number but I think that's it.

kltk1, thanks for the info! I will look into doing that as another option. I was planning on the subwoofer anyway.

Graygoose:

This is advertised as the Kicker upgrade, will these be plug and play. May add the subwoofer from kicker as well.

I have a 2015 Sport, Quad cab, Uconnect WITHOUT the Alpine stereo

Yes, those will work, many have used the CS to swap in

Yes, the system includes a DSP amp for the stock speakers so you don't even have to pull the door panels. I am still in absolute LOVE with mine, everyday it impresses me with stock speakers. I have access to about anything too. Now the new 6x9 we will release at CES I may finally swap out this system.:naughty:

The sub could be added to any package, with the complete kit, or just alone.

with the PRAMCQ13, do you have to lose the fold flat floor for the sub to be installed?
