Hello everyone.

New here and thought I'd ask a basic question and I apologize for not actually looking at my truck first, but I've seen conflicting accounts of cabin filters. Some say they're there and others say they don't have one and there are "kits" to install one.

I have a 2012, new to me last Monday, RAM 3500 DRW 6.7L I6 Laramie.

The truck has very low air output through the AC vents and I thought today maybe the cabin filter is plugged and restricting my air flow.

The guy that owned and purchased new was a supervisor on a road construction company and believe he may have just had all the windows down most of the time while on job sites. The interior is just saturated with tan dust like talcum powder consistency. It's in all the leather grain and had to be scrubbed really good to get it out.

Is it normal to have lower than what I would consider good air flow on high speed? Or do these typically have lower than other makes in the air flow department?

The air seems to be cool, but just not a lot of it.

Again I apologize asking if my '12 Laramie will have a cabin filter without looking, but I'm at work and would like to pick up a new filter on the way home if I do in fact have one in my truck.

Also here's a couple pictures of my new to me RAM.

Thanks in advance and have a great week!

From what I have been told, some came with it and some didnt. Best way to check is just look behind your glove box and check. Mine did have it

Thanks guys.

I looked last night and I do NOT have a cabin filter in this truck. Not sure if it's worth adding one of the kits and cutting out the hole in the housing to install it.

My hopes were that the filter was clogged and that was what was reducing my air flow. But not having one, that cannot be the issue.

I just really don't think I'm getting anywhere near the amount of air that should be coming out on high fan.

Has there been any complaints about lack of air flow on the '12s?

Thanks again for the replies.

Based on your description of what required cleaning from the previous owner's construction work... Chances are the inside ac coil is clogged with dirt. Not sure what would be involved to get the dash apart enough to clean it.

I would drop the fan, clean as much ductwork as I could, try the evap kit and put a filter in place.

Good Luck
