I've been having speed sensor issues for a while now, and by process of elimination, have narrowed it down to the rear axle(although still not sure which side). Everything will be fine for a day or two, then I'll get the ABS, ESC, and service 4x4 lights on the dash. If I'm driving at highway speed when they come on, I get a slight hesitation/loss of throttle(and flashing ESC light), like the computer thinks a wheel has lost traction and is spinning.
I thought my 4x4 was still working because the "auto" and "4x4" lights would still come on, even when the other lights were on. This morning, with a little bit of snow on the ground, I discovered that neither auto, nor 4x4 were actually sending any power to the front wheels when the other lights are on. It does feel like the axle disconnect is engaging on the front axle, but I suspect I'm not getting any T-case clutch engagement.
Guess I'll be getting myself some new speed sensors for the rear axle for Christmas. Kinda makes me miss my old vehicles with totally mechanical 4x4 systems. LOL
Just needed to vent a little bit.
