No coolant 3-way valve on Ram 1500 classic?

I was just checking oil and poking around under the hood on my new to me 2019 Ram 1500 classic with the Hemi. I just happened to notice that I don't see the electronic coolant 3-way valve that was so obvious to see on my Pentastar powered 2017 Ram 1500. I looked it up on the yoo toob and saw some videos where they remove the air cleaner box on hemi rams and it's right beneath it on the frame. Nothing there on mine. Just two hoses that run to the heater core?

Either I'm not seeing it, or they are no longer a thing on Rams? How sweet would that be.

Follow the piping from the TMU as the 3-way directs the coolant between the TMU and heater core.

Thanks crash. Here a pic I just took. The two upper hoses are the supply and return for the heater core.

Those two lower hoses attached to that plastic coupling looking thing go over to the thermal unit on the transmission best I can tell. Oddly, they're both plumbed into the lower radiator hose.

It's possible that plastic piece has a restrictor or a flow scoop between the taps so flow will go out and come back.
Wonder if the 3 way is gone from all the engines or just the Hemi?

No restrictive valve in it. I have a spare. Busted a hose and had to order it the hose and it only comes as an assembly. It’s completely open and free flowing

The other ends of those hoses must go through the TMU and possibly an oil cooler (I think later versions of the Hemi have them) which would be plumbed to the other side of the pump somewhere.

That's so weird. I have no idea how coolant flows though the fluid heater on the transmission if both hoses are tied into the same place.

The other oddity I've noticed is that the transmission fluid almost never gets to 185F on my 2019 hemi ram. If it does, it's only after a 30-40 mile drive and my ambient temps have been 80-90F for weeks. The 8spd in my 2017 Pentastar Ram 1500 would get up to 185F much faster and had the 3-way coolant valve.

The line for the trans comes off there and back at the water pump. The other hose goes to the oil cooler and back to the water pump.

Maybe on the 2017+ hemi Rams?

I know my 2017 Ram 1500 pentastar had the 3-way and I'm pretty sure my brother's 2019 Ram 1500 classic w/ pentastar has it too.

So is it just a constant flow of coolant to the TMU on the new trucks?

That's how it looks. Like I say, oddly enough, it takes way longer for my 2019 w/out the 3-way valve to get the transmission up to 185F than it did with my 2017 Pentastar powered Ram 1500 with the 3-way.

Looked into it a little more and looks like the 3.6 trucks still use the 3 way valve. The hemi trucks stopped using it in 2016.

Where can I get the molded hose that goes from the 3 way valve to the trans heater line? Number 3 in the pic. The 3 way seems readily available but it's so ridiculous that these hoses are nowhere to be found!

You might have to buy a molded hose that's similiar, and cut the molded section out of it,and adapt it to your truck. Start searching for molded hoses, and find one that looks like it has roughly the same bend, you might have to search GM and Ford molded hoses to if you don't find a readily available Chrysler hose.
These days you have to think outside the box and adapt things to fit,if the factory hoses are no longer available
