Hey guys, just bought a 2002 Ram 1500 that has a drop kit on it. I'm looking for ideas on what I should to with it, I think first I want raise it back to stock height. Right now it has lo-pro tires, so I'll need to get new tires too. Just wondering if anyone knows where I could get a cheap stock suspension (or if I should just get a lift kit or something) and what kind of tires I should get (to include size...tire rack says there are 3 different tire sizes for the truck). This is my first truck, so forgive my ignorance.

Throw up on Craigslist that you're looking to trade for stock components. Lots of guys are willing to trade their stock stuff for your aftermarket stuff.

No idea what the previous owner put on it. It doesn't seem that low to me...the body kit makes it appear a lot lower than it is.

What size tires are those? To be honest, that looks like a stock suspension with just drop shackles in the rear.

Welcome to rf

I agree it very well could just be lowering shackles and then the body kit to make it look lower.

Yup, now that I'm on my computer, it does look like it's just drop shackles in the back.

Thanks for all the input guys...the current tires are 20s. I will probably end up removing the body kit eventually, but I'm kind of curious to see what a lifted truck with a body kit would look like lol.

I've heard removing body kits aren't as easy as it would seem. Never had a body kit on anything, so I'm not sure if it's molded or welded on or anything...seems like it would be more trouble than it's worth.

As long as the body kit is only held on with adhesive along the body panels and with screws/bolts in the wheel well/fender/under body area I would remove that before raising it up. IMHO it would not look good if you tried raising it up while leaving the body kit on....sore sight for sure. It would be like lowering a truck with brush guards, pocket fender flares and nerf bars. Some things just don't belong together.

Nice looking truck though...2wd or 4wd?

I see what you're saying NWRQC, I will probably remove the body once I decide to lift it. I do kind of like the front body kit, so I might leave that one on there. I'm just trying to picture what the truck would look like without the kit on there...if i did remove it, I would need a new bumper and side skirts, correct?

It is also 4wd, oddly enough.

look underneath the front bumper. I dont know what kit that is but I might just be a overlay over the OEM bumper. And I would have to say IMHO and it is my opinion but that kit looks horrible and would only look worse lifted. But you seem to have a great base truck to work off of. Just going to take some work and money in the right places.
