What a crappy day. Went to get emissions tested, engine light was off when I pulled in(has never been on). Failed the test because the engine light came on and emissions test could not connect. Went home and plugged in my obd scanner. It not only wouldn’t link, but my cluster kept giving off messages related to transmission and shifter problems. Plugged it into my wife’s car and it worked instantly. It’s a 2017 ram express with under 15k miles.

I checked the fuses for the port and they were fine. Can anyone help me out?

What year is your wife's car? If it's an older scanner it won't scan a newer vehicle. You need a scanner that reads OBD II CAN not just OBD II. That may explain why it'll read your wife's car and not your truck. I think they went to CAN around 2009 or so.

Chrysler began using the CAN Bus system in the 2004 model year with the introduction of the 2004 HB Durango platform. Chrysler continued using the CAN Bus system with the 2005 LX platform and the 2006 DR.
