FRAM is a dead brand walking at the moment to include anything else First Brands related like Champion Laboratories that private labeled for FRAM and few others. They have already shut down and laid off everybody at Champion Laboratories and Warn Act notices have been give for a few FRAM factories also.

Local Walmart has been picked clean of any late model SKU's for FRAM or Supertech leaving shoppers to then pick clean the Purolator and Mobil 1 filters to have something. Rockauto is also starting to not have restock either for FRAM or Champion Laboratories made filters either.

To me, anything Mann+Hummel (Purolator/WIX) USA made is a pig in a poke. That pretty much leaves Baldwin, Fleetguard or Donaldson if wanting USA made but many of their SKU's are offshore also and they really do not make efficient filters to any degree. This will twist some peoples knickers but PGI premium filters are where it is going to be at for consistent quality and availability when ordered in bulk.

Ah, $hit.

This is what happens when society lets huckster bro's buy good companies with dumb banker's money and wreck them. I've been using PGI on the Harley, but you think these other manufacturers can make up for all these mainline filters that have been around forever overnight? During a global war? WTAF, man.

Well all this time, until recently, I have been using the stock Mopar filters. After that I've used the FRAM.
I've never opened them up to find out whether they are doing the job correctly or not. Even if I did, I wouldn't be able to tell, so I go by reputation for quality and reviews.
Currently I've got the Purolator Pbl 12222 on the truck.
I like the MO-339 just fine. All of mine seem well made. When you pull the 12222, take a flashlight and see what you think of the machining on the louvers. I've had a few of those I returned because the louvers looked almost closed. Same with the Wix 57060.

If you should ever cut a filter open, you will notice the pleating and glue will usually vary widely in quality and QC/workmanship. The PGI filters are almost always great. CarQuest 84060 and Microgard MSL57060 are commonly available, cheap, and excellent filters that cross to MO-339.

I think the point is the Mobil 1 filters are disappearing too. Unless I missed something above.

The Purolator filter is the same number
I'm not an expert with all of this.
WIX 57060XP vs FRAM XG10060 vs Mobil 1 M1-113A - which one is better?
I'm able to get these via Amazon (imported from the US).
I just got mine changed and was able to use a Purolator with the same Fram number but different letters LX10060.

I wasn't aware of Fram going bankrupt but they did say they were discontinuing them

I got the model number compatible with the truck off the Purolator website. So I used that and bought it off Amazon. I didn't know what you can use the same number off FRAM.
I just ordered WIX XPs and I might get Mobil1 filters next.
If all these filter companies are just going bankrupt, then I guess the only course of action is to return the stock Mopar ones.

Vehicles have been, for decades, a net zero depreciating liability. Shocking, eh?
That said, this devalues the essence of high quality items for us DIY'ers to the point that junk is made, and sold to us bugger picking goober consumers, rife with bright primary colors and court jester type advertisements to evoke us to "buy one right now and get the second for free!".

Damn the quality! That goofy, hyperactive high pitched clown on TV uses all the classic pressure points to motivate us to rush on down and "SAVE BIG!".

Remember the ad on TV depicting the chimpanzees changing oil on a car, back in the 70's?
Brilliant advertising for the knuckle draggers of the consuming market. On a dark level, it insulted the intelligence of anyone who wanted to get dirt under their fingernails. But people bought the product prolifically.

I digress; back to my opening remark: The powers that be aren't really motivated to make higher quality things such as oil filters, when the average consumer trades every 3-5 years, and factory warranties cover this time table.

To quote my mentor in this business: "There are many things manufactured to sell, not to buy".

Now I gotta figure out what to get after my annual supply runs out - for all my motors.

As soon as you get settled in with the latest & greatest, they fuch with you yet again. Who makes Purolator these days? I know they were rated not efficient as Fram/RP/M1, maybe we're back to rock catchers only. Which basically do nothing with a broken-in engine. Worse, it might take a long time for the remaining filter makers to backfill Fram's high sales volumes.

This just sucks.

Baldwin is a USA mfr’r (Parker-Hannifin) who makes all their filters right here wrhere our neighbors live and work.

I’ve got a full Case of them from the jungle. (No worries of counterfeiting with Baldwins.)

No, haven't talked to them lately, but they were using Champion Labs - same as Royal Purple. IDK what's going on out there besides chaos & disarray.

Oil Filter Update
Feb. 27, 2026
As previously announced, one of our filter manufacturing partners unexpectedly halted production of most filters, including AMSOIL Oil Filters. This manufacturer served a large percentage of the filter market and its abrupt shutdown left many in our industry scrambling.
We acted swiftly to secure oil filters for our Dealers and customers to ensure uninterrupted supply. Just like during the COVID pandemic when our competitors ran out of oil and AMSOIL maintained supply, we are coming through for you again now.
We secured a large shipment of WIX and WIX XP Oil Filters to ensure your customers have what they need to complete their maintenance tasks. As individual AMSOIL Oil Filters run out of stock, we will recommend the appropriate WIX replacement in their place.
This is a temporary solution. While we will continue carrying WIX Oil Filters in the future, we will discontinue carrying WIX XP Oil Filters when our AMSOIL Oil Filter supply is back to full strength.
We will provide regular updates as inventory of individual AMSOIL Oil Filters is depleted. As of today, the following AMSOIL Oil Filters are out of stock:

I cruised Wally World just now - they're already out of Fram Endurance FE 10575 oil filters. This is the midsize one that fits my 6.4L Hemi. I didn't check the big one FE2.

They still had the small Japanese engine filter FE 6607 so I ordered a bunch of those. This royally sucks.
