I had a brain fart & remembered @Travis8352 dug out some Fleetguard Oil Filter cross references last year from their horrendous website. We have a solution, I think -

I remember discussing it - it is an unlabeled Stratapore wound microglass (they seem to quit pushing Stratopore in favor of their latest Nanonet wound polypropylene plastic string element).

It is equivalent to Royal Purple 20-500 & Fram XG/FE10575 midsize oil filters for Hemi engines. It shows it is still in production. Imma try to go git some....

OK - it's in production and for sale. Truck parts places have them, RDO in Minnesota or from Cummins direct, link below. Efficiency rating is 90% @ 21 microns. The real deal. Go get 'em!!

From what I see, fleetguard oil filters are cellulose, air filter is Nano something or ruther, and fuel filter is nano net, I don't see a hemi option with synthetic, where are you Travis? sorry I haven't kept up on it, I was waiting til the nuke fell.

A side note, those air filters look great, not sure they have a hemi one?

Do they have 100% spun glass or synthetic? paper just isn't the answer imo, to each their own on that one. Every extended paper filter I cut open 6- 12 months was stiff as a board with a hole or several in it. I don't even care if it is chinesium, so long as it is glass, for my preferences. How much of a paper filter's life is in permanent bypass? Never have to ask that one with glass. Forget about the micron meter in bypass, mise well not put a filter on it, good flow anyhow.

We asked Travis about it and he said it was Stratopore which was a patented Cummins Filtration tradename for microglass. Close enough for me with huge factories shutting down right now.

Thanks, I will look into stratapore, do they have one for the hemi? Is that what you just said, sorry bro my brain ain't working today. ok saying many do not have good supply for passenger vehicles.

We just need to know if they have stratapore for 5.7, if so we have a new top filter...

fyi - Donaldson doesn't have a synthetic media oil filter in our size, their cellulose filter is 50% @ 21 micron

So at least Fleetguard is much better than that.

Ordered two Fram FE2 filters this morning to back up the three 20-820 filters in the garage. They were just delivered by Walmart and sure enough, one of them had been switched with a PH2 toughguard filter in the FE2 box. Guess I'm going to Walmart tomorrow.....be sure to check your orders right away

Walmart is out of Fram for my wife's Edge, and also out of the Endurance for my Pentastar. I have a Fram Endurance and a Fram Ultra Synthetic here at home for it.

I believe I will run the gold colored STP Extended Life in the Edge, and probably in the Ram too after the Fram filters run out.

They seem to be as good as anything out there right now.

great post led me to this, stp maximum life new player gents! It does look more wix xp then RP, but at least it is spun glass.

idk if Fleetguard Mexico plant improved quality or not over time, at least it's Stratapore glass media. IDK what else to do anymore. The STP video is 7 years old. This resupply situation is moving in real time. Donaldson doesn't make a syn media for midsize, anyway. In fact, I can't get one for my tractor hydraulic system this spring - they're out with no availability date.

I change my oil once a year as I never get to 5k miles a year anymore let alone 6 months. So I for it once a year whether it not I get 5k.
To be fair I do have two vehicles so I got two to change and switch off using.
Not worried about stocking up on oil filters. So I pay a free bucks more. Frams ok but I also use Purolator and Mopar.
Kinda weird we are getting filter shortages lol

This is how I see it now and I will leave the rest to Brian and travis for the fleetguard. But interim closest filter once fe2 falls is puro boss large size... PBL24651 very popular Amazon btw, 15 bucks. Wow they are gonna score with those other lineup defunked.

Unless something else pops up you see the chart, it is better then xp.

I bought and ran one of the PBL24651 for one of my more recent OCIs.
I think JHoward was using them too, IIRC?
I was also running the RL 5w-30.

I never saw a big change in the UOA, and at least the oil pressure remained high just like with one of my RP 20-820 filters.

Then I saw that graph showing dismal filtering from Purolator Boss and never went back. I already had my 20-820 box 'o' filters anyway.

Only downside is nitrile ADBV but i believe someone said it might be something else but definitely not silicone
