I bought my '14 1500 Crew Cab w Hemi a couple weeks ago and I recently figured out how to view the temp gauges on the dash. Curious if my temps are in a good range in comparison with the rest of you.

Almost identical to my 16 big horn HEMI.

Looks good , if you have the 8 speed xsmn . 188° on the 6 speed would be excessive, but spot on with the 8 speed .

Yup, I do have the 8 speed. Should have said that in post.

Interesting I'm @ 2K RPMs @ 70 mph! W/3:92s
Also my trans hovers around 190-192 after a couple hours on the interstate @ 75-85mph.

No factory trans cooler & by-pass!

I did install a HD trans cooler & spin - on filter kit which helps with some cooling.

Almost every car and truck made has operating temps at 100C or 212F. Any hotter you loose performance, too much cooler you loose performance as well. Really just need to look at coolant temps and oil pressure, my oil pressure is usually around 55psi, and coolant usually close to 210F.

185°-192°F is the normal operating temp for the 8spd trans, it will run higher while towing.
There are some that think those transmission temps the 8 spd runs is too high. There are a couple of trucks I know of that are well above the 100K mark with no trans issues, only regular maintenance fluid changes.

Those 8 speeds are bullet proof, even at those temps they seam to be very easy on oil.
