Thanks bud, but no one is born knowing how to do this kind of stuff. You just gotta jump in there and get ur hands dirty. though id recomend starting on a bit smaller project and work your way up.

Now i expect to see your build log up in 1 week. go!

Nothing groundbreaking to give u guys yet. This weekend was very busy so all i got done was the wiring and dimmer for the LEDs.

Heres the dimmer that comes with a remote so u can change brightness from wherever....

I tapped into the rear dome light so the box lights up whenever i open the door or turn the swith to turn interior lights on. this dimmer was $12 and feels prettty cheap so i put it somewhere easily accessible, yet invisible, just in case i need to yank it out in a week. Zip tied it right behind the rear seat.

Well, staying true to Bradknob form, I just bought a JBL MS-8?!

Leaving well enough alone is over rated anyway. right?

Well, for the price it was hard to pass up for one. Secondly,
I feel after all the work I put in, I should maximize the potential of my system. To do this I need full control of every speaker. Not %75 control of %55 of the speakers.

New sub should be here tomorrow and dsp maybe end of this week or early next....this thread lives on!!!!!

These were used and beat to crap, but they work. Theyre gonna need some TLC before they get made into a center console

I've got an MS8 on order for my system for the same reason, though, in my case it's also sheer laziness; I didn't want to spend the time tuning it properly, and the MS8 does the job in 10 min.

^^^Heard that..... Exactly my reason for going MS-8 and not any other DSP. So I can basically set it and forget it. On my last 3 way active setup, I spent hours and hours just to make it sound pretty good. I want to get it to about as good as it's gonna get and just enjoy the music.

Went and picked up the sub today at lunch... installed it in the parking lot LOL. I literally had like 20 min to listen to it on the ride back to work. All i did different was turn the gains down since its now running at 2 ohm. I need to shrink the box a little more before start beating it up. Sounds Very promising from what i heard thus far...

Here she is... need a little work to make the panel fit though...

what i had to go through just to get to the sub...unreal packaging

52436C61-F3BD-4BC8-B0FD-27194CF6261E_zps18f6c1l0.jpg

Next step is to shrink the box down to .5 CU ft
May have to nip one little peice of the gasket to make the panel lay flat again.
I also need to run wires from the tweeters to the back for when the MS-8 gets here

part of the deal with the sub was that I had to do a review on it. if youre interested in the details...

Look into the Dynaudio MW182...or the MW172 for that matter

Always wanted to try the mw172, just could never find a set in my price range

Well, my prayers have been answered. Found a good deal on a set so i jumped on them. Not even 100% if theyll fit (depth wise) but this is operation: big speakers little holes right?

I also shrunk the enclosure for the MKiv. It needed to be .5 ft^3 which means i basically need to cut it in half.

Template made for the new "floor" in the sub box. had to do it in 2 peices so it would get in the hole...

ED319497-1B2F-41A9-864B-E223144ACAE8_zpsh6iuzwpl.jpg

Heres .5 cu ft of peanuts to measure where i need to be...

B065D10F-F559-400A-BF74-FE0C622940A7_zpsrufwc1iv.jpg

Once i got the volume right, I drew a line where the floor needed to be and cet the wood...close enough

Now hopefully my ******* doesnt go impulse buying any more subs. I dont think there are any more out there with a 3" mounting depth thar are actually worth a $hit and it will be a PITA to change put this one back to normal. Shouldnt be an issue because so far this sub is very impressive. Its exactly what i was looking for in a sub stage. i can elaborate more if need be but I still need a little more time with her.

Now with the new mids, that will need new baffles etc etc, the MS-8, that will need to be wired and tuned, I almost feel like im starting all over:Stupid Me:

But this is what we live for right?

How long will it be till you find a good deal on a 13TW5 that they are compared too . Just saying I know your hardships as well buying audio gear on impulse.

The MS8 is great for set it and have fun!!!
By far, the best auto tune on the market! Plus, you can always make small tweeks after the auto tune does its thing...
I want to listen to this system....
