I also have these, and they are well worth the extra money. Im the same way as you wanted to keep the clean look but i also did not want to ruin my leather from sliding in and out. The Amps solved both issues.

Install isnt bad, i had them in in 2 hours. but i wrench a lot.

Did you have to rivot stuff?

Yes, it comes with rivots but not a rivot gun. I had one though, the are not very expensive. You have to drill some holes and do a few rivots to get it all lined up right, then you bolt it down.

Unless you had factory running boards.

I am installing the Mopar running boards tomorrow. They are black, the trucks black. Plus the plastic on the step matches the plastic on the 2014 rear bumper.

You got a part number for those?
I sorta like those.

Good thread. I'm looking into the same thing since my wife has trouble too..
Yet she thinks it's stupid if I lower my truck.. WOMAN.. hahah Gotta love them

Anyways. I would love to get those power steps but that's a lot of money..

I think Im just going to go with the Westin Pro Traxx 4" Oval Nerf Bars in black. Nice clean look. Although I do think them being body color would be sic... Umm

I just installed these 82213266 and so glad I did. Up here they were less than all of the aftermarket ones from my local accessory dealers. They wanted to charge me 2 hours labour to install them. I took them home, opened the box and they were completely pre-assembled with no brainer instructions. Taking my time it took me 30 minutes to install them in the driveway. One bracket at the front, one at the back, 4 bolts in each end. It took about 10 minutes to go around and install all the well nuts first, then another 10 minutes each side. Good quality 'made in Canada' part, very happy I didn't go with 4" aftermarket ovals that were more expensive.

Love the full length for bed access. Love the fact that the traction pads match the back bumper.

My biggest regret is that I didn't order them with the truck from the factory. After the average discounts I got on my options they would have been at least $100 less expensive than buying them after the fact.

I'm with you on that! I sure wish I had known I didn't have a limited slip diff.....

Anybody see anything on the powered Amp rails for a standard cab?

The rails should fit any cab. From what my local dealer told me, they only make one part number. You just cut them down for smaller cabs.

I installed my own, so I can say that cutting them down would definitely work. Each board only has one motor. The other end of the board is just a hinge. The only thing you need to make sure of is that you have two sets of holes for mounting running boards.

The board itself has a track that runs the entire width. The hinges aren't even attached from the box. You slide them into place and center the board on your own.

See the picture.

I have them too.

They cost 1,100 because they are the shizzal!
I really like the lights too, plus they are an actual step. They drop down as they come out. I have a bad disc and hip and man before these with nothing I'd make a few stops around town and I was barely walking.

All 4' 9" 86 years old of grandma hops right into the truck too. Before if we were going some where with her we took the Maxima.

And hey pics not needed, you seriously can't tell they are there. The install is pretty crazy though. I took one look at the instructions and told the dealer, heck why don't you guys do that for me.

I know this is a bit of an older thread, but I too have been looking at powered running boards for my '14 CC. I've been looking at the Amp Research and the Bestop option. Both are similar in price...but I'm curious if you don't mind, what the additional cost was to have your dealer install them?

I could probably do it, but with 2 boys under 4 years old...getting a few hours distraction free is unlikely!!

I have to say. This is my second truck with the AMP power step rails. The new version now have LED lights that attracts just under the bottom of the truck and helps you see as you get in. They also drop down lower than any other fixed mounted rail. Making it my helpful then others. My wife and son had to fight to get into the truck with out them. Now it is at just the right height. If you have a jacked up 4x4 they even have a kit to drop them lower. Yes they are not cheap, but they are worth every penny.

I'm a fan of the factory boards since it matches the rear bumper. After I bought my truck I got 10% of all parts and accessories (so it was cheaper than ordering them with the truck). I've had AMPs in the past, and they are great. I just had motors on both sets eventually go out.

I've heard of lots of problems with the electric drop downs on the Fords & Gm's. They're alos not included in bumper to bumper warranty neither. That's why I stayed away from them and factory ordered a diff set with my new incoming truck. You also have to lubricate them and they're a pain in the butt if they don't work right....Just what I heard.

I had factory drop downs on my 04. The passenger side motor burned out. Could not find a replacement part.

I have amp on my 13 now. I can get parts for it if something goes wrong. So far so good. I have property out in he country I just bought and we are clearing it. I have gotten a lot of dirt up there and no issues. I just pressure wash it and it is fine. They don't cause clearance issues like bolt on solid fixed bars do. Just a better option to me.
