thinking about upgrading my front door speakers, best buy has a few nice 6.5 door speakers in stock and need your guys opinions. Have a kenwood double din installed-ddx418, and basically want to try and get a bit more bass and clearer sound, which one of these do u think would produce the most bass with the kenwood head unit?

another question, is door speaker installation pretty straight forward on the 3rd gen rams? I'm sure i will need some kind of bracket going from the stock 6x9 to a 6.5, would assume best buy should have one to make it work??

look online for Metra kit, a 6x9 to 6.5" kit. Between those three, I say listen to all three, let your ears and wallet decide which you like. :)

I have the alpines and love them. I got them from onlinecarstereo.com. I would say definitely go to Best Buy or some place and listen to them all to see what you really like. Then buy them online. :) As far as mounting, what I did was use some mdf I had laying around, 1/4" in think...maybe 3/8". Just lay the stock speaker on there and trace it. Cut that shape and mark the mounting holes. Then cut a whole big enough for the 6.5" in the middle and voila! instant mounting bracket. Or you could buy from crutchfield if they are still offering the brackets for free with your order.

I've tried all three brands and I much preferred the sound of the Infinity speakers. They do need some power so consider moving up to a good JL or Kenwood amp to drive them.

The adapters are readily available at SonicElectronix & Crutchfield to convert to a 6.5" speaker in the front.
