Since you’re in SoCal there are tons of shops you could buy from locally. Another good option would be to look on Crutchfield.

I think you missed the question; they’re $75 on Crutchfield OR $20 on Amazon.
Are you still recommending Crutchfield?

Are the ones on Amazon and Crutchfield exactly the same?

Look to see it has a decent fuse holder. It's all pretty simular stranded non-shielded wire.

I got my amp kit on Crutchfield. I figured for a $1000 subwoofer box and a almost $500 amp, I wasn’t gonna go cheap.

I did however have to by a 10 gauge or whatever it was speaker wire on amazon tho. Just cuz I got it on amazon, it was cheap.

I think I’m just gonna go with the JL amp wiring kit. Amazon has them in the $20-30 range. The JL is $50 more than the Amazon units, but some you get what you pay for. I saved a lot of money on the amp and box. At least this way it’s 100% JL audio. Amp, sub, box and wiring.
I heard before JL amps are pickey on their wiring. So maybe this may solve a potential issue.

Anyone else with the JL stealthbox and the XD600/1 amp care to share their amp settings?
I feel like mine are off. I am a lil disappointed how it all sounds. I was expecting more. The bass doesn’t sound tight. I have the knob for adjusting the bass and I have it slightly above “nothing.” Meaning that having the bass turned all the way off on the knob, then when it starts to come on you only have a little to play with until it doesn’t sound very clean.

I just remember a friend of mines from high school had a single 12” and the bass hit sooo hard. And every song sounded good with all types of music. He rarely would have to turn bass up or down. I have to adjust mine, constantly, almost some to song.

How do you got yours hooked up? I’m using the factory radio, no Pac 10 amp bypass interface thing, and I used the JL Audio wiring adapters that go from just speaker wire to RCA plugs, straight into the amp, off the factory subwoofer wiring that was under the passenger side rear seat. I didn’t use that line output converter thing. Also I bought the JL Audio remote bass control knob, too. I don’t remember what my settings are, of have to go back through my emails and see if i can find it but I used explicit instructions straight from JL Audio themselves on how to set mine up
and, it hits harder than Sugar Ray Leonard...lol.

You have the factory Alpine system right? Where did you pull the signal that's going into the amp from? The factory Alpines are notorious for not putting out a decent signal unless they see a certain level of resistance on the output.

"OFC" wire is usually a bit more expensive because it is oxygen free copper wire which I highly recommend. OFC wire will not corrode like oxygenated copper wire and its worth the extra money. Regarding subwoofer/amp...Like Tom asked, where did you pull your signal from?? Something is def not correct. Your sub should love the power that comes from that XD amp and the sub should play very clean....That XD produces very clean power and most JL subs are a bit power hungry as well

Yes, I have the factory alpine system. I used the factory subwoofer connection and got my signal from that to the XD amp. I think/hope it’s just what I have the settings on the amp. When I get home tonight I’ll either take a picture (if it comes out good) or list all my settings.
Thanks guys!!

Two things about using that connection.

1. The amp may not be showing it enough resistance to pull a good signal.

2. That connection has some of the lower bass frequencies rolled off since the factory subwoofer is crap and can’t handle them.

You have a couple of options:

You could try using an AudioControl LCII (or another LOC) and see if that will give you a solid input signal.

The best (and more expensive) option is to use a PAC Audio AmpPRO to pull the signal before the factory crap messes with it.

I’d go hop on the JL Audio website under their support page and get with one of their tech support people and ask them to email you the link that explains how to set that XD600 amp to that Stealthbox. I set mine once and have yet to screw with it other than the bass volume control knob.

I could be wrong but since it seems as though you have yours hooked up the way I do, I don’t think you should have to buy more components.

Here’s what it’s set at.
Input voltage-high
Infrasonic filter-off
LP Filer/mode/slope-24db
Filter Freq. HZ-60

I had to go back through my sent folder to find this but this is the settings I was told to start my amp at-

When setting up the XD600/1v2 amplifier, I'd recommend starting with the initial settings listed below:

Input Voltage = Low
Infrasonic Filter = Off
Turn-On Mode = Rem (if using a dedicated remote turn-on wire) or Offset (if not)
LP Filter Mode/Slope = 24 dB
Filter Frequency = 80 Hz
Input Sensitivity = 34.6 volts AC (see procedure linked below)

Follow the 9-step procedure outlined at the link below to properly set the Input Sensitivity. Your target voltage for 600 watts at 2 ohms is 34.6 volts AC.

Note one of the steps lists "...if excessive voltage is read with the control at minimum (full counterclockwise), switch the “Input Voltage” to “High” and re-adjust." This is likely in your application because of the higher input voltage that you're sending to the amplifier inputs, but try the Low position first anyway.

Amplifier Level Setting Guide

In mine, it wasn’t. I was able to hit the target of 34.6 volts on the first try.

Once you've dialed in the target voltage with the correct Input Sensitivity setting, you can then go back and make minor adjustments to your Filter Frequency, if necessary.

1. OFC wire is pure copper. it can handle more current. Cheap kits usually use CCA which is copper clad aluminium. Bad news. If using CCA you need to step up to the next gauge of wire. CCA is crap. Avoid at all costs

2. load resistors are required if not using a PAC piece. The factory amp needs to see a "resistive load" like a speaker or resistors. A JL LOC22 will work. Audio control has a LC-LGD but rams require more resistance so LOC22 is the better choice.

3. Is the factory sub dual voice coil (4 wires). If so did you wire one of the orca adaptors backwards which would make it out of phase

4. A long time ago JL rated their subs at the RMS rating. 10w3v3 would have been considered a 300W sub that could handle 500W max (power above this will can generate more heat than the voice coil can dissipate) . Other brands started rating their woofers at max power which made JL woofers look like they were lower power woofers. They finally had to take their gloves off and play the same game. A single 10W3v3 is great with 300W like a XD300/1. It can handle a XD600/1 as long as you are an idiot and can hear the post where turning up the volume stops making more bass.

6. Call 1888JLAUDIO and dial 4 for tech support. They are happy to help.

If you have a 3.5 to RCA cable, plug one end in the headphone jack of your phoned then the other end into the orca inputs of the amp so that the source is your iPhone or whatever you use for music. Make sure the amp is on and slowly bring up the headphone jack volume. Does it sound dramatically better? If so, The issue is upstream in your wiring.

Your 10W3v3 will sound great once connected properly.

Your setting should be the same as mine right? Since we have the same stereo, same amp, same hook up.
Only difference is you have two subs and I have one.

Guess I didn’t see the part where you said you had a single Stealthbox. I dunno if those settings for mine will be the same for yours or not

I dunno, since you only have the single Stealthbox with the amp that’s more meant to drive the dual Stealthbox like I have, you might wanna get with JL Audio’s customer support and ask what they say you should have that amp set to as my settings probly won’t be the same for your setup.

I called JL and he recommended adjusting the voltage down to 31.6 since I’m just running 1 sub.
