I heard the aftermarket ones don't work correctly. Just what I was told. My uncle works for a chain of autopart international stores here in ny, and he's heard nothing but bad reviews.
I've tried a few that didn't work, which is why I've gone to mopar. I just haven't tried the dorman ones and they might have finally made one that works. I replace so many that I really want one of the aftermarket ones to finally work as the mopar ones don't seem to last me very long either. I replace 1 or 2 a year just to shut the warning off.
That's weird. My truck is 3 years old and still on original sensors.
May just be all the snow rain and mud I drive through regularly. They usually stop working once the snow starts flying and I replace whichever ones are cooked in the spring. The connectors aren't waterproof and that seems to be that moisture in the connector is what's causing all my issues. Maybe they'll make them with a sealed connector or a sealed lead so the plug is in a dryer location eventually, but it's been a enough years now without change so it seems unlikely.
I live in upstate ny, buffalo. We have rough winters. But, I do have the truck undercoated with sprayfilm every fall to prevent rust. I wonder if it protects them also?
