Hey guys and gals,

I am turning to you fine folks for some assistance. I've been lurking for a few months now as I researched what I wanted in a Ram 1500. I have essentially narrowed it down to an Ram 1500 CC likely with the SLT/Big Horn trim level. I am willing to take a step up if the price is right. For what it is worth, my goal is $35k out the door.

I have read through the entire "How did you get 9, 10, 11k of sticker thread" and wanted some insight into what you think I could get this particular truck for.

New 2015 Ram 1500 For Sale | Sanford FL

Lastly, I had my eyes on this beast, but feel like $35k out the door is a pipe dream on it. Thoughts?

New 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7L V8 HEMI MDS VVT For Sale in Ocala | Chiefland, Gainesvilles, Inverness, The Villages FL | 150751

Sincerest thanks for any help you are willing to give.

Im no expert, but i looked for months before buying my truck. I read just about every thread i could like u r doing. These guys will tell you here. Just for some reference for you I paid $42500 for my truck which was a $52k msrp(sticker). But, this was a 3500 and Im in NY. I thought I did pretty good considering the truck is not a quick seller and the location im in. Many said I got a good price. I even ordered the truck. I was only expecting around 8 or 9k(tops)off. And I was prepared to travel to buy. You would think that with the 1500s you would get a better price. There is the supply and demand theory that people talk about. But, do u pay more for the vehicles that sell more or the ones that sell less, I dont know. For another reference , my lowest price on truecar that i got was 46k. So, that goes to show you thats a scam and set up by dealers.
Compare prices from around the country and show the dealer their competitions prices. Look at the prices on dennis dillon and find the truck closest to yours. Thats what you should be paying around. If you can travel , do it. One dealer will give you thousands off what another dealer will. Some will not budge. You can bet your ass on that. Shop till you drop and get the absolute lowest price. Unless of course you dont want to. Good luck :)

Invoice on that Laramie should be around $40,500. You should be able to haggle to that point and then take incentives off of that. I think realistically you are looking closer at $38k out the door. $35k out the door would mean at least $13,500 off MSRP which sounds crazy to me. Hopefully you can get it down to $35k plus TT&L.

You should be able to get the SLT for around $35k. Not sure if it'd be out the door including TT&L but it wouldn't surprise me if you did. Wouldn't hurt to make the offer of $32k and if they don't accept it let them talk you up to $35k. I got my Sport for $9300 off sticker.

My CC Laramie was 49k msrp, 45k invoice, 4.5k in rebates, and then they gave me 1k in "Ram Bucks". Negotiated another 500 off of the HB to get the price I needed.... Laramie had better rebates than the Big Horn at the time, so for the extra 2k in price, I went for the Laramie.

The AC seats sold me, and they are worth it! Sound system is amazing too

I went through the Costco Auto Program and it was great. As a general rule somewhere around 80% of MSRP is good. You can do better on trucks the dealer really wants to get rid of and not so good on ones they aren't in a hurry on.

For comparison sake I paid 39K and change for an MSRP of 48K and change MSRP.

I've been looking at the Laramie Hemi's for awhile now and the price range you should be paying is from $38K- $42K depending on features. The $46k price, you can get a longhorn limited for that.

In April I bought a 2014 Lonestar CC hemi 8 spd 4x4 with the sport wheels and 8.4. MSRP was $44,700 I got it for a tick under $35,000 before TTL and I used tread lightly affiliate. Take into consideration mine was a 4x4 you should be at least $33k I'd hope.

Went to a dealership tonight and test drove this bad boy. I absolutely loved it.

MSRP = 43,760, the salesman claimed invoice was 40,204 and hold back was 1,277. Wouldn't budge below 39 OTD (36400 purchase price +++). Thoughts? I thought that was strange, but is $7,360 off MSRP good, bad or mediocre? Walked away and they did not chase us down. Going to another dealership with an identical truck tomorrow to see what they can do.

Ask what affiliate pricing is I know on my truck it was like $5000 in rebates and $4200 something for affiliate was how they wrote it out may be worth a look at Costco or tread lightly or another qualifying company. My tread lightly donation cost $100 and I got a code the same day. The affiliate program lady said I had to wait 30 days to use the code but the dealership waived it and said a code is a code it's good.

Tax is 7% here and the BS dealer fee is like 650. Essentially they wouldn't go much below 36,400 for the purchase price of the truck. He acknowledged that "there was a little meat left on the bone, but not much" and that we were "miles apart. I wanted 37,000 out the door or as close to it as possible.

Truck is an SLT Big Horn with:

Nav, spray liner, trailer brake, cluster, console, remote start, dual pipes, 3.92, park assist, luxury group, big horn package, etc. Everything but leather pretty much.

Am I expecting too much? Was their price reasonable? Thanks everyone.

I will inquire about affiliate pricing. I am going to another dealership first thing in the AM, plan to shop all day if necessary. I can always try using code same day if possible if the rebates are better than normal.

Hi All,
I have said this numerous times, if you are happy with the vehicle and are willing to pay the price then it is a good deal. To compare what Joe paid for the almost same truck as Harry is akin to seeing who can spit the farthest. What is a good deal for me might totally suck for someone else. If you are happy with the truck and you can live with the price then go for it.

If it's a 4x2 I say you're definitely not asking too much. Mine was a leftover 2014 but it was still new and no miles never titled etc and I was around $34,900 purchase price for a 4x4 Lonestar crew. Not sure what the difference in trim levels are between mine and the one you looked at but mine has tow, trailer brake, cluster, heated seats/wheel, nav backup cam, park assist all that jazz

Have them show you the invoice, mine did.... My Laramie was 10k off msrp, but Big Horn would have only been 8.5k with the rebates at the time.

They did, it was $40,204. I only qualify for 3k in rebates and they dipped a tad into holdback.

On a side note, my salmon said that if I go with the 0% financing over 60 months I would lose the 3k in rebates. I was confused because Ram's website says $2500 cash allowance or 0% plus $1500 cash allowance. The 0% isn't worth 3k with my credit, but it certainly is worth 1k on a 40k truck.

I walked from the first dealer I went to and the sales guy was telling me the same " we're thousands apart" ********. I left the dealer and wrote them a nasty email. I got a call within hours from the GM telling me to go back for a great deal. I didn't, but you should try doing this and maybe you'll get the pice you're looking for.

They always call back. It may take a few days or a week or so but they always call you back after you've been in and made an offer

If I come up empty on my search today I will try this. Thanks.

I hope I can be that patient. I am going back out today to a few other dealerships and have a phone call set up with a dealership 2 hours away. I am hoping to get at or near the price I want, but if not I will play the waiting game. I do not plan to walk back in to that first dealership with my tail between my legs saying I want to do business with them. They will need to call me.

Got my Laramie 5.7 for 39000 out the door. MSRP was 46000. Only thing it is missing is the push button start and air ride.
