Has anyone else had trouble upgrading their firmware from 16.13.13 to 17.11.07? I was following Mpgrimm2's guide for my year model and I've tried everything, including formatting to FAT32, using multiple USB drive brands, ect. I even tried 17.43.01 instead of 17.11.07. My truck is a 14 RAM 1500 and my radio is a HARMAN VP3 NA CMC 68224531AE. When I turn the truck to RUN and plug in the drive, my radio just thinks I'm trying to play multimedia files on it and says "Device Unplayable." I don't want to pay the stealership almost $300 to do this for a 8 year old head unit.

I considered installing a newer model Uconnect 8.4, but they are going for $2000+ on some sites. I don't really care for the huge Tesla style aftermarket units, because I like the factory AC manual controls and don't want to be SOL if the cheap Chinese unit poops out on me.

What am I going to do?

I had the same thing happen on a VP3. I had to plug the USB directly into the back of the radio using this adapter...
