I havent heard of any big problems with Superchips on the 3rd gens. It is a great tuner and is easy to use. You can pull more power out of the truck with a custom tune, but I would wait until you have the other supporting mods before investing in a custom tune.

Yea I don't think I plan going that into it. Once I get the tuner I'll be steering towards a lift and tires after that.

I just put one on my truck and I'm very pleased with it so far. It was very simple to install and program, and I'm definitely seeing some improvement in mileage. It also lets you adjust for larger tires so your speedo and odometer read correctly, and since you're planning on adding a lift that would be good for you.
