How much vibrating do the OEM tow mirrors do while in either position going down the road? I got some off of 1A Auto and so far am slightly dissapointed, but I don't really know how much the OEM ones move around.

my passenger one vibrates a good amount, mostly because of the engine rumble.

The factory Gen II tow mirrors have absolutely zero vibration in them.
The aftermarket ones vibrate like mad.

My guess is that's true through-out the generations.

Ram'em said the ones he got from 1A that had the chrome and light on them didin't vibrate badly, but I think mine are almost to the point of being distracting. Granted I haven't driven but about 5 miles with them. Mopar ones I found on ebay were 150 bucks more than these, but you get what you pay for I guess.

My OEM mirrors are pretty stable.. my driver side seems to have a bit of quiver in high winds, nothing overly irritating though. Its less noticeable when in the 'tow' position.

Just out of curiosity. Did you install the reinforcement plate?

Aren't the reinforcement plates only used on second gens? When I searched in ebay all that came up was for '94 to '02 models.

Hmmmm interesting. Maybe I was miss reading the ads and instructions. I thought all tow mirrors needed brackets. I'll have to look into that more.

Well to get the Mopar pair of mirrors I only have to fork out 145 more dollars over what I paid for these, so I guess I'll send these back. No sense in feeling regret every time I look behind me through a shakey mirror. Thanks for the input guys!

from what ive read a big change between mopar and aftermarket is mopar uses glass mirrors against the aftermarket plastic ones.

i got the aftermarkets and they vibrate. only the big mirror. the spot mirror which is glued to the unit doesnt move at all. i just set them where i needed them and wedged a little foam around the space bettween the mirror and cover. cant even tell and it cut down the vibration. from my expereinces driving tractor trailers the ones with power mirrors all seemd to vibrate more then the manual ones. im used to those things shaking around so having the vibration at 50 mph plus doesnt really bother me but i still tried to cut it down some. i was thinking of putting fender washers on the inside where the nut goes with rubber washers sandwiched in there and rubber washers bewttween the door/mirror on the outside too. would only be like 2 bux in washers. i would imagine it would help some. looks like there is enuff thread on the bolts to get the washers on

i atually am a little werded out by the spot mirrors. are they supposed to be on the top corner? i would think the bottom corner would make more sense. its like it created a bad blind spot. when there in the down position. ive seen dodge tow mirrors with the spot mirror on the lower corner. mine are in the upper corner. was the glass put in upside down or something?

Mine don't really move unless I have the volume turned up on a heavy bass song...or I'm doing WELL in excess of the posted speed limit...
