Cool, thanks for all the info! I am going to keep my eye on it while I get the parts together.
I am going to probably get bigger bushings and sleeves and reduce the size of the washers, I think I will feel like it is a little less "rigged" that way, and it will look better. :)

But for now:

Thanks for this info.
I want to do this because the BT shocks ride like crap. If you were to order these again, would you change anything? Im fine with the washers or the stainless you linked to on Amazon, (this is not open heart surgery) just trying to capitalize on your experience !

I hope some of what I shared can helped other guys... :)

If I had to do it again, I would have measured the mounting brackets on the truck and had the right bushings/sleeves/washers ready to go the first time. That was the only part I forgot to measure.

I am beginning to think that adding the single spacers to replace the washers might just do it for me. But I am going to wait and see how things go with the current set-up and maybe I will change my mind and get new bushings and sleeves...

Read through the part about the rear install and that will give you the right measurements and bushing or spacer options. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Otherwise I am very happy with how it went. Where in LA are you? :favorites13:

Your washers are 100% fine and will last the life of the truck and then some in SoCal. I wouldn't order anything else and I'd call this project successful and done.
Nice write up, David.
The only thing I'll add it that the bushings you ordered are available off the shelf at any big parts store for a similar price. No real need to order and wait if you need them quickly.
Also...on the front shock lower t-bar you can just use a grinder to slot one side out to the end and the nuts in the a-arm can stay put. This is for the steel LCA's like you have. The newer aluminum LCA's may not need any mods done since those nuts are speed nuts and can move around a bit....I'd double check that before install if anyone with a newer truck puts these shocks on.

Thanks alot bro! If it is up to your standards than I am definitely good with it! :)

I didn't even try to find the bushings at a local store, I am addicted to ordering online, lol! Maybe that is one of the reasons I only have 7,500 miles on a two year old truck.

Great tip on the front shock lower t-bar. I made it bold so others could take note.

My pleasure! I actually enjoyed figuring out how to make these shocks work... Now I am kinda sad that it's done. Maybe I should start all over again... :superhack:Lol!

Woodland Hills. It was 107 here today.... Luckily I work in the People's Republic of Santa Monica, so it was only 90.

Any more ride impressions?

**** that is hot as HELL!!!

I did a little slalom today, and the suspension recovers very quickly. Seriously, it barely feels like a truck anymore! In a few days I am going to a 12 on the firmness setting.

I have yet to get on a freeway and go 80-100, though.

I never thought of my German heritage as being pointless... lmao!

You have a great memory, though. :favorites13:
