I have a new 2013 Ram 1500 with the basic radio package and the radio keeps playing for about a minute after removing the key and even opening the door. The only way it will shut off is to open the door before turning the key off. My dealer says this is just the way it is. This doesn't seem right to me. Anyone else with a similar problem?

Go through the EVIC menus- there is a setting to turn that feature off (or have it stay on longer!).

I had the same "issue".

Even if my radio is OFF when I get out of the truck, when I get back in and restart the truck, the radio automatically comes on :fca5278d:

On the 13's though the EVIC menus don't have any settings for the radio. Is there any "secret" menus?

I have the 8" uConnect, and for mine you have to use the big screen in the center console to go into the options and settings, I'm not near my truck right now but just for the sake of a quick response I figured I'd post up. I actually changed my settings on there and it stuck.

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems with it, it's never fun when your truck starts acting up :sorrysign:

Yeah the 8" uConnect is easy to get to the settings. The 13 Express models have the 3.0 uConnect (Mine doesn't have Bluetooth either) I've checked all the settings in the radio and in the EVIC and nothing. I've searched Google relentlessly.

Dealer told me that was normal and unchangeable. I hate this feature if it is.

I'm in the same boat, but simply ignore it for now. I do not have the problem of the radio turning on, but it will stay on for a few, if not powered down before exiting. Interested to see if setting can be changed :)

I just got my 2014 Ram 1500, and love everything about the truck EXCEPT the radio coming on automatically. For such a minor item, it really bugs me. I'm sure the volume knob will fail soon because I get mad and pound it to turn the damn radio back off. HELP ME!!

There is no help that I have found...yet. aftermarket seems to be the only solution so far.

I spoke to Chrysler about it last year, and that is just their design. Maybe a dealer can disable it? The best thing to do is turn the volume to zero before you exit the vehicle. Wish I had a better solution, drives me nuts too.
