It rained last night and on my drive into work this morning I could hear water moving around behind the dash on the passenger side. When I would take a curve or left turn I could hear it moving. I got to work and I find the passenger floor carpet is all wet and I can see some water drips in the left corner of the foot well about were the heater vent is.

AC still works great and blower still runs just fine.

How do I get the water out?

Any ideas where it came in it? Could I have a plugged drain under the windshield cowl and it over flowed into the heater box? Anyone have any information to help me troubleshoot this?

I did some searching here already and everyone talks about the cab vent, rear window, 3rd brake light. some welds on the 5th gens, but not much when it came to the 4th gens other than the previously listed items. Gonna add a picture of where I found water coming onto flow at from my phone in a little bit.

When running the AC at idle get out and make sure you see water dripping pooling near the passenger front tire. If not your AC condensate drain may be clogged. It can be cleared with a small pipe snake or pipe cleaner.

It was the AC condensate drain. Got done with golf league after work and headed home to do some investigating. Yep skipped the post round beer.

Took wheel off, removing last lug nut and the trigger broke off on my impact wrench. 15 year old craftsman impact, bites the dust, at least it was on the last lug nut.

Pulled out the wheel well liner. Looked up to drain and apparently the 2016 still have the straight tube out the fire wall, no elbow nothing.

In the tube it’s all white, grab the needle nose and it’s like a paper plug, now is that wasp or spider that built that perfect plug? Grabbed the air nozzle and blasted some compressed air in and out poured was seemed like at least 2 cups of water. It was a lot, can only imagine how long it’s been plugged up.

Put everything back on and got the wife to help suck water out of the carpet with the carpet cleaner, pulled the door sill trim and gonna leave it open to help dry it out.

Went for a short drive with the ac on and the water it just pouring out of the drain now after I backed into the driveway.

I haven't done it on my 2014 but on my 99 Ram I use some clear tube to route the water down below the frame. ON that model, wind buffeting could cause the ware to blow back into the drain without that elbow you speak of. Glad it was a n easy fix!
