Yes, I'm old, and hope to get older........Damn some of you guys are ancient, lol. Wonder if any of the younger guys can identify it,especially with the hints![]()
Up here in DFW its more Mopar at the shows than Camaro and Mustang ratio. That's all I do is go to about 3 Mopar car shows a year that have a race track and I highly prefer 1/4 mile tracks. I'm not interested in car shows if they don't have a race track. We don't have to worry about bad sportsmanship because if you get outrun by the same brand you are driving who cares. That way I pull for all of us racing! LOL I also don't care about going to the bigger car shows because I'll get to see about 3 or 4 Mopars to 100 Camaros, 100 Mustangs, 100 '55 Chevys ect...........May be exaggerating but we all know the percentage rate difference is up there. I know that's the way it is and I accept it.
It was a really good show. Lots of Mopar, Ford, AMC, Tri Five, Model A and T cars, Porsche's actually one I worked on won lol. If you could name it they had it.Even though I'm not a Camaro guy, I'd take any one of those
Nobody ever said watching Jones was boring, lol.Remember some of these names?

1970 Trans Am Race at Watkins Glen International
Expect to see several of these cars back at Watkins Glen International this weekend for the Hilliard U.S. Vintage Grand Prix as the Historic Trans Am group j...www.youtube.com

He did, but I think I saw a little bit of a early jump lol.Cougar had that one pretty easily, lol
That era of mustang the 67-70 fastback was really the best looking Mustang of that era. I love that color on a Shelby GT500 I drool over that car and have since I was a kid.View attachment 551381
My uncle had one just like this for a while in 1971. It's what made me fall in love with them back then.
He was about 6'3" tall, and hated the Mach 1. He said you didn't get in it, you put it on.
He bought it to resale, as it was a repo. The passenger door was dented, we fixed it, then he sold it. I tried my best to get him to keep it.
That was my first real job, working for him all summer in his body shop.
He swapped cars more often than the moon changed. If someone made him a good offer on his car, it was gone. There were always several for sale outside his shop.
After working for him all summer, he got back a lot of his money when I bought my first car from him, a 1955 Ford Victoria.
Many days, he closed the shop and we spent all day going from one place to another swapping and trading anything from jewelry, to cars, and anything in between.
It rubbed off on me. For the next 45 plus years, you never knew what I was coming home with, or driving up in.
I've slowed down a lot on that now. Not as much decent stuff floating around that's not overpriced, or junk.
I think the Camaro was late on the leave,it wouldn't have made much differance though,as i think the Cougar could of gave up a length and still caught the Camaro. He did, but I think I saw a little bit of a early jump lol.
