friends i need your help. I have a dodge ram 4 х 4 2018 (4 gen, gear ratio 3.21.). Engine 3.6. I need a rear axle. I found the rear axle from version 4 х 2 2016 (4th gen, gear ratio 3.21.). Tell me will it suit me? why some people say it doesn't fit. And some people say it fits.

the gear ratio is the same 3.21. Both on the all-wheel drive version and on the rear-wheel drive version. But many say that it does not fit. Why if the gear ratio is the same 4x2 does not fit 4x4?

Because they don't have any idea what they're talking about. The only thing that MUST be the same is the gear ratio. As long as it perfectly matches that of the front diff. you won't have any problems at all doesn't even matter if they are the same brand or not as long as the numbers match up.

Could be the u-joints are slightly different between the 2 but you should be able to find one that will make it work.

It's a direct bolt-in,they're identical rear-ends between 2X4 and 4X4.The only differance is the earlier 2011 and early 2012's had the ABS sensors on the front side of the axle, after that they moved the ABS sensors to the backside of the axle, but you can work around that,by using your original backing plates, and grinding a small notch in the housings end flange where the sensor sits. The reason they moved the sensors was because of snow and mud,it'd build up on the sensor wiring, and then the wiring would end up getting damaged.Anything after 2013 is a bolt-in,as long as the gearing matches as stated above. There's a True Trac equipped 2011 2X4 diff under my 2014 4X4.If you want to use the rear-end you've pictured above,it looks like you'll be re-using your original brake backing plates and axles again.Stick new axle seals in it,and don't mix up the axles, they are side specific, one is a smidge longer then the other,so don't get them mixed up.
