I remote started my 2015 yesterday and it shut down after about 10 seconds. I restarted with the key and the check engine light was on. I shut it off a few minutes later and restarted it after a little while and the cel was on. Disconnected the battwry for a few hours, reconnected and started it and no cel. Any reason for the remote start to cause the cel to go on.
I had cel on a few months go on due to the fuel pressure sensor going bad, replaced it and was ok. Then a month ago it went on again for some emission thing behind the fuel tank. Replaced that and cel off. Sure is a lot of things going bad at this time.

The CEL is what's causing the the truck to turn off when you remote start the truck. Also most active CELs and low fuel condition will not allow the truck to remote start.
Remote start is the same as Tip-Starting which is standard on all Ram trucks since at least 2013.
Pull the error code, if you don't have a reader most auto parts stores will do it for free.

But the cel wasn't present until i remote started and cleared from disconnecting the battery. The cel only came on from remotely starting.
What is tip starting? Never heard of it

Read the code and troubleshoot from there. The remote start did not (99% likelihood) cause the CEL.

Tip start is a function built in where you only have to bump the key to start then you can let go, the PCM will continue cranking on it's own. Much like a push to start setup where you only press the button, not hold it until it starts.

As stated above the remote start did not create the CEl. it could have just triggered just before you shut your truck off last or it became active when you started your truck. Its a safety feature built into most veh that they will not start with a active check engine light/code. If you would have pulled the code you could have saved yourself some time with this post ;)

Just posted about a similar problem with mine, 2025 V6
Random CEL events, code is always P0300 (multiple cylinder misfire) Never runs rough, think the code is BS. Engineering is working on it I'm told, so they don't know squat about it is what that means.
You probably now know your remote start will not work if the CEL is on. Just a safety precaution built in.
