I think what you need to figure out is how low can you go with the dropped cross-member.

Figure that out and set the front struts to that height and then get the rear sitting how you want for the new front height?

Not sure how low we can go with the diff drop but I’d think you might be able to get down to something around 3” which is pretty much just a leveled truck but I’m sure there’s someone on here who can tell you specifically.


Hopefully you can get away with messing around with your front spacer height (may have to throw back on the stock spindles?), then changing the rear springs/shocks to sit a bit lower than you currently do.

I just need to invite all yall over for a beer and yall can discuss it. Lol I'm no mechanic, and I dont know how to figure all that. 3" is what I would ideally like to have. I wished I could find someone close to me and I could trust wouldnt blow smoke up my ass. But I will certainly sound like I know what I'm doing after speaking to the truck people that know their stuff. [emoji16]

You can’t really “set” the struts to 3”, it’s a RC kit not Bilstein’s which max out at 2.1” I believe. Also chances are the UCA’s have been changed as well as the sway bar links along with some relocation brackets, some bolt holes were probably drilled out larger to accommodate the larger bolts on the drop brackets. Not saying it can’t be done but it’s a bit more than you described.

Exactly but I’m assuming his 6” kit came with the big spacer that bolts on top of the entire front strut assembly to achieve the height.

Could he do something like get rid of the big tophat spacer from the kit

Buy some eibach front struts and set them around 3” increased height

Then put stock spindles back on and be good?

Now that you mention it yes things like sway bar end links (cheap I’m assuming) would have to be set back to stock as well. There’s a lot of guys running stock UCAs with a lift and not a single issue (myself included).



I think what he’s concerned about is how low can get the truck while retaining the diff drop...he seems willing to throw back on things like stock end links, etc if that’s what it takes.

I already called Rough Country. They told me that nothing should have been cut. I said, well that's not what I'm reading on the instructions. Sometimes people dont always go by the directions but I am sure that the dealership made sure it was road ready. Yes, I purchased it lifted, but how was I supposed to know I couldnt do anything else with it? But, I'm not blaming anyone but myself for lack of research. [emoji849]
So what about tires? I have 35s on it now. What size tire could I go to that wouldnt look stupid rolling down the road? Lol

I am not 100% positive but I believe you can drop all the way to 2-2 1/2” and run 35’s, then you could do 33’s or stock size when it’s time for new tires.

If you can also post a pic of the top of your strut, I will see if I can figure out which RC kit was used, if we can determine that (or if you have and documentation on the kit number) I can help you.

I'm a Pavement Princess, so she'll probably never see the mud anyway. I guess I'll check out AAA for roadside assistance. Cant carry a floor jack around with me incase I have a flat. Lol

At a local shop they said you can go down to 3" with the crossmember cut with the diff dropped. They said they would charge around $1800 to do it. He wouldn't tell new how they would do it though. The last IFS truck my shop lifted was a 2008, sp in not much help sorry

I think I'm just going to go with a AAA policy for flat tires and buy gap insurance from somewhere and hope and pray. Lol
