I think I'm just going to go with a AAA policy for flat tires and buy gap insurance from somewhere and hope and pray. Lol

Just ask AAA about the lifted truck. When I had them and a lifted truck (12" lift) they came and said we can't change that tire to high. So just double check so you don't pay for something you can't use. I've owned lifted trucks since I was 16 and drove them since I was 14 on the farm. We/I beat them and the maintenance isn't more then a stock truck, with the exception of the shocks and tires :) also gas lots of that lol

If you look at the 6" kit instructions and compare them to the 4" kit instructions, there isn't much difference between the two. Looks like you could easily convert it to a 4" kit if that would help you, p,us allow you to switch to a smaller size tire without looking bad to drop it a little more.

FRONT:

The 6" kit uses a preload spacer and a top spacer while the 4" kit just uses the top spacer. So if you have that preload spacer removed that'll lower the front.

REAR:

The 6" kit uses replacement rear control arms and panhard bar relocation bracket which isn't included in the 4" kit but will work on either. Both kits use a spacer above the coil so I assume the 4" kit just uses a smaller spacer. Therefore you "should" be able to swap your rear coil spacer to the 4" kit rear spacer. Only other change would be to unbolt the bumpstop bracket and rotate it from the vertical position to the shorter horizontal position.

I'm not familiar with shops in LaPorte, you might have to drive to Houston.

Jace Auto works on a lot of trucks and they'll do just about anything p,us if needed they offer financing on everything. I would call and talk to them.

Great info @JB1, my concern would be the replacement drop brackets on the diff, are they the same on both kits or does it drop the front diff more on the 6” kit.

Yiu would think they would be different but they aren't , if you click each link, scroll to the bottom, click the instruction pdf for each kit it shows the same part numbers for the knuckles and cross members.

I didn’t spend that much time on it lol. But thank you for doing it, I feel for him.
@Jacamp looks like you may be able to lower this to a 4” lift very reasonably. See post above from @JB1

I saw it. I'm a she by the way. Lol Yall are just wonderful people. I moved to Texas in 2004 and I honestly don't get this kind of friendliness and helpfulness. I'm going to call that shop he mentioned tomorrow. See what they tell me. I'm excited to maybe see a light at the end of the tunnel. [emoji4]

I ran into this same issue and ended up trading my truck in instead. This was only after I purchased stock steering knuckles and a replacement cross member (hundreds of dollars later).

Well, that is what I ended up doing. I traded her off. I was sad, but extremely relieved. Just too much for me to worry about. Especially when i am at the mercy of someone else to do my repairs.
